If this is the book I think it is, I read this in 1984. It was my first remembered book that required sitting on the toilet (the only permissable light on in the house!) until four am because I couldn't sleep until I finished it. It deserves to be recovered, remembered and reread.

Like all Pitkin books, the charms is the illustrations. This is actually a very good short biography of Mary, Queen of Scots. It makes a good introduction.
