I loved this book!! I haven't read a historical for a while and realized just how much I have missed it.

I like that the writer took poetic license and made marriage between the two male characters legal.

The rich characterization of Evan and Christopher made me fall in love with their journey to complete their lives together. I'm a little in awe of Evan, he took control and knew what he wanted from the beginning.

This book had it all for me, adventure, romance, hot sex, family conflicts and the u

I was very curious to read this mm/historical book because the author decided to put aside two very important factors. First, that being homosexual was unthinkable and punished by death and second that a man born out of wedlock could inherit a title. A kind of alternate Georgian time period.

Well in my opinion it was a big mistake ! It led to the most flat and boring story I have ever read. I am not saying that it is badly written, only that it robbed this stor

I really enjoyed the preview I was given of this book. The characters were developed in a way I felt that I really grew to know Christopher and Evan as I read. The storyline flowed well, drawing my emotions from one extreme to the other and back again. There are twists and turns, ranging from an accidental meeting, moving through family background, to romance, hot sex, secrets, and betrayal, among other things, which kept my usually poor attention span glued to this book. If you enjoy beautiful ...more

I loved this book and how this talented author used fantasy to create a world where it was legal and acceptable for two men to marry. I love historicals anyway and because I read almost strictly M/M, it's very hard to find a regency novel. I thought it was wonderful the way the men fell almost instantly for each other and Ms. Hunt scripted some very hot love scenes. I have become a great fan of this talented author and anxiously await the next installment from her.

I had the opportunity to preview this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story line is sweet, sexy, mysterious, exciting... everything I look for in a good read. I adore the characters and thought they were very well thought out and developed. I thought the premise was very unique and original. It didn't read like an idea that has been written and rewritten, and kept me entertained until the last word. And, did I mention that it's quite sexy? Would absolutely recommend!

(Contains mild spoilers in the paragraph regarding Evan.)

Set in an alternate England of 1792, A Wicked Encounter is the story of Christopher Allwyne, the Duke of Bellwood, and Evan de Lombard, a Frenchman, who has come to claim the same property that Christopher believes he might inherit from his recently deceased aunt.

Evan and Christopher had already encountered each other and things go awry when Christopher finds out why Evan is in the area. It remains to be seen if they can work things

I loved this book! It was a little bit fantasy, a little bit reality, and a whole lotta hot lovin'!

I felt the real pain of Evan and Christopher as they came together and found the beginnings of love, but were then torn apart by what Christopher deemed as betrayal. I can see it happening in real life. Its easy to meet someone and have that instant connection that leads to falling into bed together. Its happened to me before. The hard part is when we find out something about the other person that

In the foreword this book was described as "harlequin-esque" and a "fairy tale", being a fan of both I picked this book up fully expecting to like it. I didn't. I actually found this book quite painful to read and even had to skim through some bits just to finish so I can't even claim to have properly read it. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was that I didn't like, but I'm pretty sure that it's partially because I didn't like the way the story unfolded, and mainly because developed an e ...more

For me its a one star but I defer to a two star as I'm sure others enjoy this.

Truly a cliche romance, and really a badly executed one. This is love at first sex, seriously they meet have sex and say they love each other in less then 24 hours. Now that's not the only problem of this book, but it's probably he worst of the bunch.
Next you are to believe that ,even though they are madly in love, each can draw anger and insult from a misunderstanding. To the point that they leave this new love and m

I was very disappointed in this book. It was not good. It felt more like an outline or sketch of a story than the actual story, the characters were totally not well-drawn, and overall it was not what I'd hoped.

Though I enjoyed the story, the book took me a while to get used to the way it's written. It feels to me more like a summary than a narration.
