92 pagine di capolavoro. Non sono riuscita a staccare gli occhi da questo libricino nemmeno per un secondo di pausa. Come dice l'introduzione, è un 'capolavoro minore' - ma questo solo per la sua lunghezza. Non pensavo che in così poche pagine si potessero trovare tutti gli elementi che ci si aspetta di incontrare in un vero e proprio romanzo: l'amiciza, l'amore, la guerra, la paura, la fedeltà.. e chi più ne ha più ne metta! On the front of the edition I was reading from 1983 there is the quoted recommendation from Jeffrey Archer ' A wonderful experience no one can miss. I wish I had written Reunion '. All I could think of was the quoted exchange of I think Oscar Wilde and Whistler where one says 'I wish I'd said that' and the other one says ' You will Oscar, You will '.

Pur nella sua brevità, è un gioiello.
E' la storia di un'amicizia che sboccia come la primavera di Stoccarda, travolgendo Hans e Konradin con il suo slancio vitale, ma che presto viene avvelenata da un "vento" contrario: il nazismo. Arthur Koestler described this novella as a "minor masterpiece" in his introduction to the novel. I would agree with him that it is a perceptive short novel about friendship. However, set in the 1930s in Stuttgart, it is also a tragedy and a story about love. I thought it beautiful, perfectly constructed, and heartbreaking. The final sentence, when we learn of Konradin's fate, made my stomach lurch - horrifying, and yet a vindication of a friendship. Reunion is beautifully written, with some passages reading almost like poetry. That may seem strange for a novella focused on the events of World War II and its impact on two particular friends. In some ways, it reminded me of A Separate Peace. It was particularly nice, for a change, to get a feel for the German countryside and way of life in the years before Hitler's rise.

Nulla di truce in questa 'novella', come Koestler definisce l'opera di Uhlman nella prefazione contenuta in questa edizione, cosa che certamente rende degno di nota, in mezzo a tanta produzione non solo letteraria su argomenti affini, questo lavoro. Got more than I expected on rereading this novella.
Beautifully written.
Not a trace of sentimentality.
And a concluding paragraph of two lines that is a revelation for both the reader and the main character.
Recommend it highly!!!!

Francamente, esperaba bastante más de esta novela. A priori, después de conocer de qué iba, prometía mucho. Pero la verdad es que la historia se queda en la superficie y no profundiza todo lo que debiera. Los personajes apenas están esbozados y la historia se queda en una anécdota más de los años previos a la segunda guerra mundial. Excepto las últimas frases, la novela no me ha llegado en absoluto. Pensando a questo piccolissimo capolavoro mi viene in mente una sola parola: tenerezza. Si potrebbe definire questo libro l'Elogio all'Amicizia. In questo piccolo gioiello troviamo la storia di due ragazzi sedicenni nella Germania degli anni trenta con il nazismo che incombeva con le sue leggi razziali. Un libro che si dovrebbe tenere sempre sulla scrivania a portata di mano, come un buon dizionario. Carico di significato, tipico ed ottimo esempio di letteratura per ragazzi, anche se è bello riscoprirlo da adulti, perchè l'amicizia non ha età.

L'avevo comprato perché avevo sentito che era un "classico" e che era piaciuto praticamente a tutti. A me non è dispiaciuto, però mi pare troppo leggero. Forse è un libro che va letto in età più giovane (io ho 22 anni), però mi è mancata davvero un po' di profondità. La storia è veramente molto semplice, anche se lo sfondo è quello dell'avvento del Nazismo.

Uno dei libri più struggenti ed emozionanti che abbia mai letto.
Un libro semplice e lineare, la vita di uno dei tanti ragazzi ebrei della Germania nazista. E la storia di un'amicizia creduta forte, tradita e perduta e poi dolorosamente ritrovata.
La fine di questo breve romanzo (primo nella trilogia del Ritorno di Uhlman) è quanto di più bello, più forte e più sconvolgente si possa leggere.
Un capolavoro.
Un libro semplice e lineare, la vita di uno dei tanti ragazzi ebrei della Germania nazista. E la storia di un'amicizia creduta forte, tradita e perduta e poi dolorosamente ritrovata.
La fine di questo breve romanzo (primo nella trilogia del Ritorno di Uhlman) è quanto di più bello, più forte e più sconvolgente si possa leggere.

Très beau roman sur l'amitié. Dans une Allemagne où le nazisme monte en popularité, le narrateur, juif, développe une amitié quasi fraternelle avec un fils d'aristocrate prussien. ایشان این کتاب را شاهکار کوچک نامیده است که البته کوچک آن به خاطر حجمش بوده است.
آنچه این کتاب 112صفحه ای را از دیگر کتب متمایز کرده پایان جالب آن است.
ولی من چون زیاد درباره پایان آن شنیده بودم با این پایان آنقدر ها هم غافلگیر نشدم.
ولی واقعا هنر می خواهد که کتابی در فضای جنگ بنویسی که بوی جنگ ندهد.
خواندن این کتاب کوچک که در قطع جیبی هم نوشته شده است را به همه دوستان توصیه می کنم. More...

This novel, though short, express how Nazism could interfere with a normal boy's life in what I would say a most perfect way.
Simple, but intense and beautifully written, Reunion: Der wiedergefundene Freund is a short read that is worth every single minute you spend reading it. And I can only describe the last page as heartbreaking.
