Miguel is consumed by fear during a field trip in the jungle, startled at everything that moves, especially the birds. His teacher tries to help him through his fears, but it's the eagle who helps him the most. The text is long and the teacher character is preachy. There are well-detailed watercolors of birds of the Philippines, however.
