This book was provided free, in PDF format, to me by Tom Thumb, himself, through one of the many travel forums I frequent. I cannot remember which, at the moment.

I started reading it because it was freely given, but stayed because it was a captivating story. Tom Thumb tells a fantastic tale of his overland journey from Great Britain all the way to Goa, India. His journey was fraught with challenges and generosity that will restore your faith in the inherent goodness of humanity.

Some the best travel writing is more about living than traveling. Or living through traveling, perhaps. This tome ranks among the best I've read; the author's journey is equal parts inspirational, thought-provoking, and purely mad.
