Rick Rowland isn't your typical rock star. Certain he’s undeserving of the love and adoration of his fans, the attention makes him uncomfortable. As the bassist for a popular rock band, the perks are great, but stardom will never make him as happy as the one that got away. Well, more like ran away screaming after Rick's misstep with her young heart. Forgiving himself may b...more

Spoiler alert - This book is amazing , it's like nothing else out there, the writer captures your attention from The beginning and keeps it. Rick Rowland a hot as hell rock star who's living the rock star life with women, booze and drugs doesn't realize he's missing something in his life until he meets Shelby in Greece preparing for his sisters wedding . Shelby a 15 year old girl to Ricks mid twenties realizes their relationship could never be anything more than friendship but he knows deep in h...more

This was ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING STORY.. I am only giving it 4 stars because the ending, well the ending to me felt rushed like I love a good ending to love story it makes the book for me. Argh.. I don't want to spoil it so I will just leave it at that.. ♥♥♥♥

This review will appear on Parajunkee.com tomorrow featuring an interview with the author and a giveaway.

This book follows the life of Rick Rowland a rock star. He lives the rock star life to it's fullest. Girls, drugs, booze and music. He thinks he's got it made until one day, while in Greece for his sister's wedding, he realizes he is lonely. The only true companion he's had in years outside of his band is 15 year old Shelby. Shelby is a free spirit who finds a kindred spirit in Rick.

Rick is...more

Oh my goodness, I'm a fan for life.

This whole book is a love song -it's happy and sad and truthful... and so very beautiful.

I love how you can stay engaged with the characters, no matter what happens in their lives. They burrow their way into your heart and you ache to see everything turn out ok. So good!

this was a really good read. The lead character just makes you fall in love with him. His damaged past peeks out every now and again and just when you think "WTF" well, keep reading it gets that much better. I've recommended this book to all my friends, yes I know I gave it 4 stars - but for me 4 stars is great! So glad I found this book, loved every minute of it.

A very good, gripping story. I'm not sure why it isn't getting more publicity with some of the crap that is passing for "good" books these days.

Slowed down a bit in the middle, but overall, a quality read.

This novel started off promisingly enough. I loved the descriptions of Greece, the people, and the nightlife. The scenes where Rick and Shelby were interacting just burst with chemistry and life. Yeah, it was a little weird that she was only 15 but then again, kudos to tfc Parks for not giving in to paranoia and making all of her characters over 21 to satisfy the upright morals brigade. Once Rick got back home, the plot dragged in places. It was also hard for me to really connect with him becaus...more

In Rhythm In Blue we are introduced to Ricky who is on his way to music stardom and Shelby who is a fifteen year old free spirit. When their paths cross nothing is ever the same again for either one. While Rick is in Greece to attend his sister's wedding he and his band mates meet Shelby. None of them know that this fifteen year old free spirit will have an impact on their lives for years to come, especially on Ricks. Through the years after they leave Greece, Rick tries to forget how special an...more

Ok, let me just start by saying, wow!

Typically, when I read a romance novel, I want to fall in love with the main characters. I especially want to fall in love with the hero. But while I did not fall in love Rick Rowland in this book (sometimes he can be a little unlovable), I sure did come away from this story caring about him a great deal. Lurking behind the haze of sex, drugs and rock and roll that Rick is constantly lost in, is a good and decent man. Flawed, like the rest of us, and constant...more

Mar 16, 2011 Ellison James rated it 5 of 5 stars Recommends it for: Fans of Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, or anyone growing up in the eighties.
Nicholas Sparks and Vladimir Nabokov had a baby, and she is TFC Parks. I believe that is the best explanation I can formulate for “Rhythm in Blue.” In this story, the reader is invited into the life of Rick, an abused teen turned rock star. I was drawn into the trials and tribulations of Rick, Shelby, and all of his band mates and friends in beautiful, graphic, painful, sensuous, and heartfelt detail. I know that everyone wants a story that draws you in and makes you read it in one quick sitting...more

Reading this book I felt so many different emotions! Tfc Parks has a way of setting a scene and making you think you are actually there in that moment with them living it. That to me is a true test of an Author. If you can take me there and to that time you completely have me!
The complexity of Rick and Shelby was off the charts! This is not your normal love story, it was better! Tfc keeps us guessing and never once did I guess right. It was everything and more I thought it would be. Romance and...more

I wasn't really sure if I was going to like this book as it was told from a male point of view but I was asked by the author if I could write a review for her and I said yes! I thought that the book went at a good pace most of the time and it was the first time that I had ever read something like it! I have to say though that sometimes Rhythm In Blue sometimes went a bit slow and I felt myself losing interest but then something would happen that would draw me right back in! The main character is...more

Not sure what these 5 star rating people saw in this book. I suffered through 80% of this book before I gave up finally, I just cant care enough to go on. Maybe use character perspective for future books or just not drone on and on about the same stuff!!! Just could not finish!!
4/2/13 Finished, still maintain the rating but the end was pleasant.

I have to say, that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was such an amazing read that kept me riveted beginning to end. It kept me hanging on to see what else Rick would do and experience his lonely heartbroken world. It was touching without being sappy. Definite recommend going out for this one.

I don't know why, but all I can say about this book is "contrived drivel"
I have read better sweet dreams books during my school days. 2 dimensional characters and a story that isn't exactly a story. It's more like some random diary entries or episodes of a mini series. for person who reads a gazillion of romances this was 'absolute pits' :( I wish I can get back the time I spent reading this.
Kay
Loved the story, loved the characters, recommend as a good read. Certainly not a typical 'romance'. I read the Kindle version which is riddled with bad editing and some typos - misplaced commas and words left out, which drives me crazy.

Amazing, Powerful and Perfect!!!

It was hard for me to put it down...Its way better than True Love Story.
Joy
This one didn't do it for me--story was slow and characters weak--
