This book contains practically every battle fought in the American Revolution with tons of maps and enough details to recreate the battles if you desired to do so. When one reads this book you will be amazed at the size and scope of the Revolution. If you are looking for a brief military overview of the American Revolutionary War, this is the book to read. Brief synopsis of the sides, the location, and the combat accompany each major battle for the Revolutionary War. It won't expand your knowledge greatly about the political sides of the war, but it will give you a good view of the fighting that went on. Highly recommended for wargamers and those looking to get a compact approach to the battles from 1775-1783.
If you ever wanted a book that covers every battle of the American Revolution, complete with participants, tactical setup, maps and results, this is the one for you. A great reference for the military historian. I was surprised to learn that Daniel Boone fought in the last battle (Battle of Blue Licks) before peace was established. One of his opponents was John Butler of 'Butler's Rangers', a local hero in the Niagara Region.
