Wicked Games
by
Jill Myles (Goodreads Author)
Abby Lewis never pictured herself on the survival game show, Endurance Island. She's just not the survival type. But when her boss offers her a spot on the show and the opportunity of a lifetime, she packs her bags and heads to the tropics to be a contestant. Once in the game, though, it's clear that Abby's in over her head.

A short read, won't give you a time to take a breather and I loved it for that factor.
I`d be lying my A* out if I say that Dean didn't affected me the way he does Abby ;)
Dean Woodall
Handsome, Attractive, Tall, High Cheekbones, Sexiest Cocky Grin ,Muscular, Tanned with dark hair, Pale eyes, Swimmer, Olympic Gold Medalist.

Abigail
Cute, Brunette, Reasonably Attractive, Happens to have one hell`ya Smart Mouth, In Short Dean explained her personality pretty much in just one simple line "Abby is a real...more

Never having enjoyed 'Survivor'-type reality TV, I was surprised to find that I really liked this little story about two rival (and antagonistic) contestants paired up on Survivor"Endurance Island". The book is written from heroine Abby's POV, although we are treated to brief glimpses of Dean's perspective from his personal diary at the beginning of most chapters.

This was so much fun to read!!! A light (but still very captivating) story that is extremely relevant to what is currently happening with reality tv. It seemed like it was pulled straight from Survivor, or quite frankly any of the crazy shows that are so popular with the tv-watching public, minus all the extremely annoying characters and pesky commercials. ;)

OMG! look at the cover - this book is NOTHING what I thought it would be. I was thinking a hot romance with nothing but sex on their mind - Not even close!
This book is about a game - if you remember the old reality tv show, survives - it's basically that same game - And the challenges are just as good in the book as they were on the show :)
A group of 24 people taken to a private island to live off of nothing but the island in hopes to win $2 million -

This was a great fun and exciting read that had me hooked from the very beginning. I loved everything about this book, especially Dean ;) Can I just say yum! Abby was a great character. She was strong, independent and had a quick fire attitude that I loved. I loved that the story was told in first person from her POV as you were able to really get in to her head and see how she really felt about the whole situation.

Okay, I admittedly picked this up because the title reminded me of a certain fic. I went in expecting it to be your usual "boy likes girl, girl is conflicted on boy, boy forces girl to like him (in the skeeviest way possible)" type of romance novel. I was pleasantly surprised when it was otherwise with actual, honest to god, consensual sex.
That shouldn't be a big deal. Unfortunately, it is.
The book was rather cliche: boy and girl are jerks to each other at first, but then fall for one another; a...more

This book actually pleasantly surprised me.
I'm not a fan of "Survivor" type shows or premises but I downloaded it based on a couple good reviews.
This book is full of awesome, chocked full of win and odearheavens HOT.
Abby Lewis works for a entertainment style magazine that basically forces her to go on this reality show and report back to them what's its like.
She had pretty low expectations and frankly just hopes to not get cut too early to write a decent story.

My first introduction to Myles' writing was in the novella of the compilation for Wild & Steamy. From that short piece, she had me hooked, and I went and found everything else she'd written.
This was a quick, easy, and refreshing read. I can say honestly that not one point of the story bothered me, and if you know anything about my tolerance for books, then you know that's monumental in and of itself. That's not to say there weren't things that won't bother others, but I was too easily distra...more

I really enjoyed Jill Myles Succubus Diary series, so when i saw this as a free ebook I added it to my Kindle library. I started it awhile back but didn't finish it. Last week I started it again and read it in just a few sittings. It is the first book I finished reading on my Kindle Fire. The premise is just like Survivor from the perspective of a journalist who is drafted onto the show.

WICKED GAMES is a romance novel spin on the show SURVIVOR. I could predict a lot of the plot points, despite my ignorance of the show: bonding over primitive conditions and shared rewards, conflict revolving around in-game challenges, etc., but the events that would be the big turning points of the TV show (like who makes the final four, who won at the end) all came as total surprises to me.

A fun, sexy book about a Survivor-like game show? I know, it didn’t make sense when I picked it up at first either, but as soon as I started I just couldn’t put it down. Maybe it was the great descriptions of the setting or the hunky leading man, but this story was just fun all around.
The story, Wicked Games by Jill Myles, centers on the aspiring author, full-time journalist and all around smart-ass Abby Lewis. She is coerced into joining the survival game as an inside mole. Only once she gets i...more

This book is really 4.5 stars.
I had mixed emotions starting this book. Jane from Dear Author recommended this book on Twitter and the <140 character plot summary, and free price on my Nook, sounded like something I'd like. Despite that, this book had two things going against it for me: I've never gotten into reality TV, and I don't like first person narrative. The latter is more significant; first person narrative make me think of Bella from Twilight and Claire from Outlander, and I can't rea...more

I got sucked into this book waiting at the doctor’s office... then got mad when the nurse called my name. I was fine when the nurse and doctor said “be right back” because I could read a few more paragraphs. Instead of studying, I came home and went right back to this book until it was over. There’s not much I can say about this little novella, just READ IT!

It's Survivor meets Temptation Island.
Abby knew the moment her boss called her into her office that she was in trouble. As a book reviewer better known as 'Abby the Book Bitch', her next assignment involves doing some actual field research and this "first hand exclusive" could lead to a major career move. Wasn't expecting to enjoy it as I did. The story takes place in a Survivor kind of reality show and, although I'm not a big fan of it, I did like how the characters were playing, trying to make alliances and playing with what others were expecting from them. The romance part was a bit cheesy, I preferred when they hated each other, even if the some scenes were steamy.

I can't believe this was my first time reading Jill Myles! *kicks self*
Epic failing on my part aside, clearly, I've been missing out because she definitely knows how to deliver sexy sizzle with an entertaining story to boot!
When *book reviewer* Abby Lewis gets an order from her boss to become a contestant on Endurance Island, she isn't exactly thrilled with the idea, but she does like the sound of the book deal she'll be granted if she can get through a couple of challenges.

The game show Endurance Island (think Survivor) needs a boost in its second season ratings, and when a female contestant drops out before the competition starts, the executive producer calls upon Abby.
Abby works for MediaWeek magazine, and her boss asks her to drop everything and join this crazy show so she can give an insider’s take on what it is like to participate on Endurance Island. If she does this, they will offer her a book deal in return for Abby’s secrecy and some exclusive articles fo...more

3.5 Stars. I wasn’t sure about this story, as I am not particularly a fan of ‘Survivor’. It was not an issue, however. The survival type show the H/h were competing on turned out to be an interesting backdrop for the book. It was a cute story, and a cute romance. Dean was doing the show to prove something to himself, and Abby was doing the show because her editor was making her do it to write a story. After Dean and Abby got paired off together on the show, the sparks started to fly; first in mu...more
Abby is a book reviewer who agrees to be a contestant on a survivor-type show because she’s offered an exclusive for her magazine and a book deal afterwards if she does. Dean is the hunkiest male contestant on the show who winds up being Abby’s partner. Abby and Dean cracked me up; from the beginning, the sparks were flying—in anger, but you knew they were going to quickly change to lust and inevitably love. I never watched Survivors on TV, so I didn’t think I’d like this book, but I was wrong....more
I’m going to start this review by saying I am a bit surprised how much I enjoyed this story... First, I hardly ever read (and enjoy) contemporary romance and second, I am NOT a fan of Survivor - I don’t even watch reality TV. But leave it to Jill to create such a likable book.
Abby is a pretty good lead - she is unsure of her capabilities, but never quits. She is basically forced onto this show, but makes the most of the situation, even surprising herself and others with her ability to win. She c...more

This was a free Nook download. I've been wanting to read Myles and this seemed like a good place to start. I'm glad I did. This is an exciting, fast-paced novel I couldn't put down. I devoured it in one sitting.
Abby got suckered into joining a reality show al la Survivor. She gets tossed onto an island for a chance to win two million dollars. Only she isn't after the money. She's after the book deal she's been promised for being on the show. Dean is there to win. When he gets paired up with Abby...more

HILARIOUS!
I picked up Wicked Games as more of a joke book. I needed something to fill some time and I really didn’t care what it was.
With that said, the first 35% of this book had me laughing so hard, that the people around me became annoyed. Bully for them!
There will be several highlights from the book in this review. All worthy, I assure you

I enjoyed this unique adult romance novel, but it’s not something I’d read again.
Wicked Games by Jill Myles is set up a lot like Survivor, the reality TV show. The 14 contestants, 7 males and 7 females, compete in groups of two. Every few days one couple is voted off. Toward the end of the game the couples split up and everyone competes individually. The last person standing wins 2 million dollars.

Abby isn’t the reality show type, but especially not on a survival show. Not given much choice, Abby heads off to the tropics and hopefully lucrative book deals on her experience. Early on Abby realizes that everyone is out to win and all costs. She’s well over her head.

Lord Almighty, the plot holes in this one. She has an engaging writing style and there was angst, which I love in my romance novels. But the HOLES!!!! So many completely nonsensical things! My biggest two--1. That she would not know who he was, since even I can identify recent winning Olympians who have been on TV and on Sports Illustrated and I don't follow sports (and she's in the media industry) and connected to that, 2., that you would be with people on a Survivor like show and not know prac...more
I'm not much of a modern romance reader but as a reality tv fan I thought the plot sounded interesting and as a free kindle book I really didn't have anything to lose if I read the book. I have to say it was a really fun, quick read. The main character, Abby, is a book reviewer who is pretty much forced to participate in a Survivor-like game show by her employer. When she gets to the Island she is teamed up with the handsome, athletic Dean. At first they can't do anything but argue but of course...more
Told from the heroine’s POV, we only get some of hero’s brief thoughts at the start of each chapter, not enough to explain how his feelings evolved. But the length did not allow for much so I was ok with that, because the story was very entertaining -until the last quarter, when the heroine’s insecurities, fueled by everybody including the hero’s public words before they met, caused the expected rift. Neither H/h respective groveling was enough to leave me with a good feeling when I finished. Ho...more
