Montana Hendrix has finally found her dream job - working with therapy dogs. Working with them is everything she ever wanted, so when she looses control of one of the dogs, and the said dog runs into a hospital wreaking havoc, she doesn't need Dr. Simon Bradley yelling at her to feel bad.

Simon has a good reason to be furious - a dog in a burn unit where a lot of patients can't be exposed to germs is bad. Granted, it was an accident, but still, the irresponsibility of it puts him on edge. If onl...more

The second of the Hendrix triplets, Montana, who thinks of herself as the not-so-successful one, finds true love in this lovely follow up to last month's Only Mine. Finally coming into her own, career-wise anyway, as a service-dog trainer, Montana's first encounter with surgeon Simon Bradly is less than ideal. An over-eager dog named Fluffy runs wild and ends up in Dr. Bradley's burn ward, with a frantic Montana rushing in after her. After giving her a dressing down a Marine drill sergeant would...more

This is the fifth book in this series (I think) but I've only read four of them. I'm going to complain in general because all of the books are really similar. I hate how these end as soon as the I love you's are declared. Like life is all happily ever after as soon as it's said. Silly. In more than one book of this series, the heroine has gotten pregnant "accidentally" and then had to of course decide to raise the child on her own, absolving the father of all responsibility because they don't wa...more

3/5 stars. Oh my!

There is a lot I liked about this book. I liked the hero and his dilemma. I liked the supporting characters and I liked the involvement of the burn unit and Kalinda.

But I disliked a whole lot too - allow me to rant for a moment. I started to get annoyed with the way that Mallery introduces characters from past books. We get an entire synopsis of their own book. It starts to get eye-roll-worthy-annoying. I also found that this happened in relation to Montana. Everyone kept saying...more

Only Yours is Montana's story. She has finally found her dream job, working with and training special therapy dogs. One of her dogs has become a favorite of hers, especially because she is a little wild and probably won't qualify as a therapy dog. The dog's wild behaviour becomes a problem when Montana takes Fluffy for a walk and she runs straight into the burn unit of Fool's Gold hospital where Simon works.

Surgeon Simon Bradley goes where his patients need him most. Right now he is treating a l...more

WOW! Susan Mallery has definatly done it again with this one. One of my fav. things about SM's books is that there is no warm up period. There is no just keep reading, it gets better, it's just good from the start! And Only Yours followed that same pattern. I mean I was in love with Simon by Chapter two for goodness sakes!lol And I have a feeling there will be a lot of us readers that fall in love with Simon and his tortured past, his intensity, and his need to heal anyone who might be suffering...more

Susan Mallery is a genius. A miracle. An Author Goddess. I love her. And I loved this book. Ever since I learned the premise of this book, I was excited to read about Montana and Simon. And they did not disappoint at all. In fact, they were better than I hoped. The plot was pretty fantastic, too, and I wasn't remotely bored or disinterested at any point in the novel.

With each book I read about the triplets, I am amazed by how different they are. The previous book of the series was about Dakota,...more

It was a cute enough book.
I can not seem to make myself say that I did not like it.
But the truth is this: Everyone was so sweet! I am having a sugar rush just looking at the page featuring this book on the site.
The heroine was so nice I started imagining her as the fifties super nice wife next door.

 Fifties wife

Not really funny when you think about it, eh?

All in all, read this only if you are prepared to go trough talk about everybody and their grandmamma in a sweet little town where you encounter a sweet li...more

I enjoyed ONLY YOURS but missed some of the fun that could have been added.

Simon Bradley is probably the best burn surgeon around, but that comes at a price. Burned himself, Simon works off his own penance by not allowing himself to have a life outside of work. He’s never known love (view spoiler) and is determined to not allow himself to fall for Montana and stay in Lucky Harbor, despite everyt...more

Believable characters are important, especially so in romances. You already know the general plot and how it will turn out, right? I once refused to finish reading a book because it the characters were entirely unbelievable (15th century Scottish warrior telling the heroine to take a hot bath and relax didn't ring true). Susan Mallery's "Only Yours" is at the opposite end of that spectrum. Her characters are fully realized and completely believable.

Montana Hendrix trains therapy dogs. She gives...more

I badly need a reviewing break, but after writing about all the books in this series I wasn’t that crazy about, it seems only fair to say at least a few words about the one I really did like. It was so good to see some real heat and passion in this story, and the balance between “novel” elements and “romance” elements was just right. I liked that the story had other things going on in it to support the romance: both Montana and Simon have meaningful, important careers that were interesting to re...more

After reading Only Mine all I wanted was to get the next book so I could plunge right back in Fool's Gold. Only Yours focuses this time on Montana's story. I can already tell you it was a cute and funny story! Not that I doubted it would be anything but. *wink*

Montana has a job she loves, training dogs so they would help people. I have to say I envied her job. Who wouldn't like training puppies into being serviceable dogs! I love how Susan Ma...more

I've enjoyed this series up to this point, but I think this book is probably my favorite of the series so far. I loved just about everything about this installment of the “Fool's Gold” series. It had me hooked in right from the start and I read it in less than a day. Didn't want to put it down.

Series Note:
Fifth full length book in the “Fool's Gold” series about a small California town where women outnumber men. I wouldn't say it's necessary to read the previous books before this one, but I think...more

Why read: Love the Fool's Gold series.

What impressed me: After reading both Ethan and Dakota's stories, readers will really feel as if they personally know the Hendrix family. This makes us immediately much more invested in how Montana's relationship works out. Now that she's finding her place in the world, you root for her and Simon the moment you meet him (as abrasive as he is). Simon is really the star of the novel. His complete emotional detachment is reminiscent of Raoul's romance, but it's...more

I have to say the second group of 3, "The Only's", I have enjoyed much more than "The Perfect's". Not sure if because of the triplet's personalities or what, but I read them easily in one day. The hero Simon did take awhile to grow on me, but I LOVED him in the end. My only wish in both this book and book 4 is that when the hero hurts the heroine, which happened several times in both books, I wanted the hero to run back to the heroine and ask for forgiveness, not let 1 to 2 weeks pass before the...more

Finally, the town is becoming real, the characters have issues, and seek more realistic ways to deal with them. I'm glad I endured to get here! I'm not sure about all the wonders of rescue dogs, and their ever-present place in current romances, but I'll let it be. I know animals can work wonders, but I also know highly asthmatic children can not even walk down the pet aisle in a grocery store, without causing difficulty with their breathing, so I remain torn. So bringing a dog into a hospital sc...more

I would have liked this a whole lot better if the hero hadn't been so robotic. The reader is expected to believe that a man who has walled himself off emotionally and only indulges (infrequently) his physical appetites with a dinner-and-sex date is actually immensely skilled in bed and a witty conversationalist. Paging Dr. Robotico! He mostly appears as someone who is verbally stiff, not just introspective, almost as if he's unaccustomed to the normal give-and-take of daily life. Since he's also...more

This is the 5th book in Ms. Mallery's Fools Gold series. These are contemporary romance novels set in the fictional town of Fools Gold near San Francisco California. The first 3 books were almost a mini cycle within the overall series. This book is the 2nd of another mini cycle, this time about a set of triplet sisters.

I am not usually a fan of contemporary romance but this series is different. The characters are much richer and more real. You find yourself really caring about them and what happ...more

I am glad I gave Susan Mallery another chance. I read Only Mine not too long ago and found there was something missing. For some reason I decided to try the next book and I am glad I did. I really enjoyed Only Yours.

I liked Montana right from the start. From the moment Fluffy gets lose and wreaks havoc. She wants so much for Fluffy to be a therapy dog, even though he really isn't cut out for it. She really puts her insecurities on the dogs sometimes, but it is fine. They don't care. Montana is r...more

Susan Mallery continues to write stories that are compelling, fun, humorous, and full of love, heart and soul. The characters are engaging and compassionate, the dialogue is believable, and the love is endearing. In my humble opinion, Ms. Mallery has not only hit another home run with Only Yours, but she’s also done an excellent job of showing how quickly one’s life can be turned upside down by a single incident. As always Mallery writes a wonderful book. You just can't help yourself getting lost within the pages oh her stories. This book was 378 pages and it wasn't enough. Something I don't often say. I wanted more of Simon and Montana. Watching Simon become the person he was deep inside made me want to cry. I'm sure if he hadn't met Montana that would never had happened. This is why I love reading romance. Don't walk, RUN to the store and pick up Susan Mallery's books.

This continues the series, moving on to the next triplet, Montana. Her work with therapy dogs is quite fascinating, and she encounters the very talented visiting doctor... who seems borderline autistic for much of the book. His trauma is finally explained, but it is clearly Montana's highly developed sense of empathy and caring which makes it possible for them to become friends plus. I was often impressed by how rational and patient she could be, how easily she set aside her own hurt and was abl...more

Cute story, but I think I am getting a little tired of this series. Not that they aren't good, but they always end up with everything right in the world. I think I am just tired of that. Overall though I would probably recommend it, especially if you have read the others in the series.

I had read almost all of Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold books, but for some reason had missed this one... this was my favorite of them all! I loved the mysterious and intriguing Simon, and I loved the message of acceptance and internal beauty. A very sweet romance!

I love these triplets. Montana might be my favorite so far. And I'm very intrigued by their brother Kent. I keep hoping Jo the bartender will get hooked up soon!

Just another great boon in another great series!!!
