For those of you who are huge fans of Zach and Angelo, you will probably love this book. I, unfortunately, am not a fan. I knew beforehand the book was about Zach and Ang, but there was no way I would miss reading about my other favorite couples.

This book, was disappointing...I did not like Zach's character, his whole thing was just strange.

Cole was lovely, but there was not nearly enough of him and Jon, and Matt's bitching got on my nerves.

I love Marie Sexton... Promises and Strawberries for Dessert are two of my favorite...but I just couldn't like Zach.

Matt and Jared made me laugh, like always. But Zach and Angelo made me cry". Funny thing is? I felt exactly the same way. Similar to The Letter Z, Paris A to Z feels more as a study of relationship between the couples and themselves. Written in alternate point of view, switching between Zach and Matt, I'm AMAZED on how different these men are but at the same time similar.

Matt and Jared are always the more grounded, the more stable couple. Even with Matt's jealousy over Cole, I still have NO worries about them. Matt's jealousy amuse me really. And I totally love how Jared reminds Matt that there are more things about the two of them that do not happen when he is with Cole. I love Matt's interaction with Jon's father regarding football. I can always count on them to be the "neutral" couple as they bring us, readers, to look over the relationship of the other two men.

Zach and Angelo, on the other hand, is the more complex one. It has to do with everything of Zach and Angelo as individual beings. I always see Angelo as Zach's compass, so his borrowing words from a poetry, "You are my north", is a completely perfect to describe what they are. It is interesting that as lacking in romantic department as Zach is, and as restless Angelo is, they are the more natural to explore the possibility of having someone else while doing the sex (to spice it up, Zach likes to see Angelo with others). I have no problems with that, because they are who they are.

Reading how Zach deals with his ex, Jon, is the most intriguing one. There is still something between them, not the love per say, but they don't exactly part in good terms. It is true that what Zach needs is closure. I have no doubt that Jonathan is in that position first, because Cole helps him see this. But for Zach, even if he worships Angelo, he has not let his past go. Because somehow, Zach is the more reclusive one, as he prefers to push people away rather than works on the problem. And with Jonathan, he only remembers the pain. So the part where he breaks down and looks for that consolation from Angelo, when he realizes that he finally has his closure, that touches me more than any other scenes in the book.

I am also happy with Ang's personal development. Way to go, Ang *hugs*

If there is one thing that stops me from giving the perfect star, is again, the lack of Cole and Jonathan. I know, I know, they're happy. Hey, it IS their wedding day. Still, I wish I can also get the glimpse of their interaction between them, rather than with anybody else. (less)

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Oh, how I love the Coda men; and all the men together in Paris, the city that is synonymous with romance? Well, that’s pretty well my definition of insanely good reading.

If you’ve read the previous five books in this series (and I highly recommend you do), you’ll know that these men have histories that intertwine, either through long-standing friendships or past romantic entanglements. It’s those past affairs that create much of the conflict and emotional tension in Paris A to Z, the sixth insta...more Oh, how I love the Coda men; and all the men together in Paris, the city that is synonymous with romance? Well, that’s pretty well my definition of insanely good reading.

If you’ve read the previous five books in this series (and I highly recommend you do), you’ll know that these men have histories that intertwine, either through long-standing friendships or past romantic entanglements. It’s those past affairs that create much of the conflict and emotional tension in Paris A to Z, the sixth installment in the series that travels to the City of Lights with all three couples to celebrate Cole and Jonathan’s wedding.

Is there anything that illuminates your past failings quite like spending a week with a man who, at one time, you had loved deeply but hurt irrevocably? That’s a harsh reality Zach and Jonathan must endure as, after twelve years, they attempt to reconcile the way in which their relationship ended amidst infidelity and rejection. There is a sublime poignancy to their storyline, as each man has moved on to find their perfect soul mate—the men who each have taught Zach and Jonathan that they can fly, yet still have their feet planted firmly on the ground, that their compasses will always point toward home, so long as the one they love is there.

While the story is told in alternating points of view between Zach and Matt—Matt, of course, having to come to terms with his jealousy and antagonistic feelings toward Cole—I honestly felt this was Angelo and Zach’s book. Their relationship is so entirely complex and so utterly glorious that I found myself missing Zach’s voice when the focus was not on him and his angel. Angelo’s evolution and by extension, the deepening of his and Zach’s feelings for each other was oh-so-sigh-worthy, causing frequent bouts of anxiety, mixed with episodes of sheer giddiness as their commitment to each other strengthens.

Zach and Jonathan’s relationship failed because Jon wasn’t able to accept Zach for who he was. Zach and Angelo’s relationship thrives because Zach loves Ang precisely for who he is, not for who he has the potential to become. Angelo has given himself completely to Zach, and there is no greater gift than that. It’s an unconditional love and understanding that makes their unconventional relationship work absolutely. I adore them both, which means, based on the ending of this one, I cannot wait until book 7 to see what Marie Sexton has planned for these two men next.

This is my second review of this book.

I read it yesterday and I gave it one star only because I was disappointed. I was expecting too much because I loved Promises and Strawberries for Dessert a lot. I thought we would have a lot more of Jon and Cole, I just love this couple. I bought Paris A to Z because of them.

What a wonderful end to such a great series. I have always loved all three couples, though it took me a while to realize that Ang and Zach relationship worked for them, no matter how little I understood it at the time. I suppose time does that -- what passes for months or years can pass for a few hours in a novel, so I don't always take to the issues right away, or understand the characters' reactions to them. I want to be sad that a fabulous series (Coda Books) has ended but the concluding novella, Paris A to Z, wraps everything and everyone up so well that I feel satisfied and happy. The story could have been longer and had more Jonathan and Cole but really that’s just getting greedy since the story is nearly pitch perfect in offering solid happy endings to everyone. In some ways the various arc are the inevitable conclusions to the growth that each character has over the course of the series. The story could have been longer and had more Jonathan and Cole but really that’s just getting greedy since the story is nearly pitch perfect in offering solid happy endings to everyone. In some ways the various arc are the inevitable conclusions to the growth that each character has over the course of the series. Angelo and Zach grow the most but then again they had the most tenuous and perhaps out there relationship. In the end there’s no doubt everyone is happy and with their intended soul mates.

The plot this time around centers on Cole and Jonathan’s Paris wedding. Cole has flown everyone over to celebrate their love and it’s caused some old wounds in everyone to be pricked. Matt can’t get over his irrational jealousy of Cole whenever Jared and Cole are together while Zacc is still dealing with repressed feelings of loss and guilt over the end of his relationship with Jonathan so long ago. Zacc is worried about Angelo, while the later is trying to show his love and devotion to Zacc without scaring either of them. Cole is up to his usual tricks and ways while Jared is just laughing at them all.

The six men have a very complicated and interwoven relationship. You can’t read this on its own and should ideally read the series in order before even attempting this one. The ins and outs of the various partnerships can be confusing and this is highlighted in a gently amusing lunch scene where Cole and Angelo highlight how everyone has slept with (nearly) everyone and the tangled web of how everyone connects. This is important to show how sex is treated differently between the various men. For some it’s easy and nearly meaningless while others place more importance and reverence on the act. The goal is that regardless of who has slept with who the connection and friendship between the men is what holds them all together.

Jared and Matt have a nice, very sexy arc. Matt must let go of his irrational jealousy and finally understand the long standing friendship Jared and Cole have regardless of their casual sex past. Matt finally comes to terms with this but it’s a process and eventually allows Matt and Jared to grow closer. Perhaps even a more active sex life, which is not only hot but about time. Likewise Angelo and Zacc have definitely advanced their relationship although their change is more obvious. Zacc has come into his own with more of a dominant role that is hard to grasp. It’s definitely foreshadowed in previous books but the time line leaps ahead years from the last time we saw these two so the opening scene between Zacc, Angelo and someone else doesn’t necessarily work with how they’d be left in the series. I can see the progression but it’s still a bit jarring and a leap. Regardless though, the two have come a long way as Zacc lets go of his past and Angelo fully embraces his future.

Jonathan and Cole are given the least attention as the narrators alternate between Zacc and Matt without either Jon or Cole given their own thoughts. This keeps the two part of the group but without any significant progression. It’s not bad and they went through a lot in their own book so these two didn’t need the closure as much as the other couples so I couldn’t complain. I’m sure those fans that love Cole/Jonathan may want more but it’s a nice, happy ending for them as well as everyone else. Not to mention plenty of hot sex and sexual tension.

Overall this is a very good ending to a wonderful series. It satisfies and resolves any lingering issues to leave the couples riding happily into the sunset with the right soul mates. Love conquers all but it’s a great journey. Definitely pick this up if you’ve been following the series but start at the beginning if you haven’t (and why haven’t you? Really...)

This was a book meant to end a series. I think it accomplished that, however, I feel like it was rushed and there should have been more. Maybe that's just because I wanted there to be more who knows.
This book was mainly another Zach and Angelo book. It seems their relationship needed 3 books to tell their story. I felt like a book supposedly about Jon and Cole's wedding should have had more than a few lines thrown in about it. It was as if the author realized she needed to mention it as she drag...more

I loved it. Loved it! Too short but loved it. It was so great to read about all the couples and see where they were at in their lives. Zach's coming to terms with how his relationship ended with Jon, Ang's love for Zach, Zach's almost worship of Ang, Matt and Jared's steady love even with Matt's jealousy, Jon and Cole's wedding, just awesome! Thrilled that Matt is more comfortable in his skin in regards to the sexual side of their relationship. Just loved it and want more! :)

I don't care what people say about Angelo or Jon...nobody is perfect and despite that all those brilliant characters in these books found someone who is perfect just for them. A lot of writers make me laugh. A lot of writers make me cry. A lot of writers make my heart clench. A lot of writers make my gut twist and turn and get tied up in knots. A lot of writers are freaking amazing. Marie Sexton did all of this to me... all at the same time.

I don't know what I was expecting from this book, seeing as this was a sequel to The Letter Z, the somewhat flangst-y follow-up to Zach and Angelo's story in A to Z. Now, out of all three of Sexton's couples, Zach and Ang are my least favorite because they never fail to pour so much angst and emotional crap into me that I get exhausted after reading. So, when I found out in the first page that the story will be told half from Zach's point of view and the other half from Matt's... I was instantly filled with trepidation. Because while I love Matt and the humor his personality brings in the story, I just knew Zach's is going to make me all weepy.

I was right. So there I was, reading this story with tears running down my cheeks and at the same time trying to stifle a lot of giggles. I felt so stupid sitting there feeling this way because of a story but these characters and their love stories and relationships and interactions with one another just sucked me in. I wanted to slap and hug the author at the same time for making me feel this way... but in the end, the story just left me with an amazing feeling. Like I've read something really good and I won't be able to read anything else for a while because I know I'm going to keep rereading and rereading until I get bored.

Without giving away too much of the story (it's still new; not everyone reads it, not everyone cares anyway), I just want to say that Jon and Cole are still very much adorable. Their love is so strong and true that while Matt and Zach are busy trying to cope with their conflicted feelings, Jon and Cole remain the beacon of light in the murky waters of relationships. I literally broke down and cried when they exchanged vows because they were so sweet. I mean, I can't even complain about it being sappy because it's NOT. Not at all. How is that possible? Sweet but not sappy. I guess that's Marie Sexton's Jonathan and Cole for you!

Most of this is just nonsensical rambling. But, seriously, if you haven't already, do check out Marie Sexton's Coda series from Dreamspinner Press. This will be one m/m romance series you will NOT regret reading. Ever.(less)

I adore this series. And this book is a perfect ending to it. You will laugh (Matt & Cole!), cry (Zach & Jon, Zach & Angelo), you will melt (all of them). Another installment of the Coda Series. In this one, the gang all travels to Paris for Jonathan & Cole's wedding. The story in narrated by Zach & Matt. In this book, Matt is once again faced with his jealousy over Cole. Zach has to deal with his feelings toward Jonathan and his relationship with Angelo.

When all was said and done I laughed and cried during this book. I missed having the voice of one of the grooms in this book, since everyone was all together it would have been fun to see...more

This is a story that is about Cole and Jon getting "married" in Paris but it's not their book which is kind of strange. It's really a book about Zach and Angelo and ultimately it's a book that ties up all the loose ends. The problem is that it left me feeling unsatisfied.

This time, of course, the scene is Paris, and the boys have grown up a little bit, showing an open acceptance, and appreciation, of what their significant other requires. Zach is his usual font of warm fuzzies, a nice guy with a darker edge that any girl with a fondness for bad boys would find hard to resist. I don't think I could ever think of Zach as the warm and cuddly type you snuggle with in front of the fire, and yet, the tender moments between Angelo and Zach are made all the more special because of this. Zach and Angelo both reveal more of themselves to each other in this novel, digging into their respective pasts and dealing with issues out in the open, or at least attempting to communicate more verbally - whether you feel they succeed or not, these two are more than hot together.

Jared and Matt's was the first story I read written by Marie, and have always been the sweetest for me. I really enjoyed revisiting these two, with Matt's petty possessiveness in the face of Jared and Cole's previous relationship (if you could even call it that) and Jared's seemingly easy acceptance of his partner's ongoing struggle with same sex relationships. I always felt the warmth of love between these two characters, and it was really nice to have that reinvigorated in Paris A to Z as well as see Matt really start to accept, and participate in, the more intimate side of their relationship and trust in the strength of what they each felt for each other.

With many references to the past of not only their own relationships, but that of other issues and events from Marie's previous stories in this series, I wouldn't recommend reading this novel as a standalone. Written in a contemporary style, Marie writes true to her characters, and that shows in their reactions and thoughts as things go along. There are so many interconnections within these three couples, and I really came to appreciate the lightness of Cole as a character. I had a little trouble adapting to the storyline at first, as it doesn't travel the normal happily ever after path. Marie writes so well, with all of the characters interacting on different levels and I was able to enjoy each couple finding what works for them. If you have a taste for voyeurism, enjoyed any of Marie's other writings, or enjoy revisiting characters after their initial story has been told, then give Paris A to Z a go. Nxx

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. Some parts I laughed, some cried and some felt just as angry as Matt that no one else was getting how he felt. I was relieved when Matt finally figured it out for himself. When Jon and Zach finally talked I cried. While Zach was crying so was I. I just enjoyed this book so much. I really can't stand this couple (Zach and Angel), I dont understand why the author is so in love with them. Angel comes off like a selfish and immature boy and Zach like a guy with low selfsteem who is too scared of being alone, that anything will be good for him.
And Matt and Jared are so, so, to me, specially when I find inconsistencies in their storyline, like in the first book Matt says that he alwasy felt attraction for other men, but by book two he has become into a straight pansexual, lik...more

This was a mixed bag for me. I love the characters in this series and Sexton's writing is terrific. But, once again, I was less than thrilled with Zach and Angelo's relationship.

In Paris A to Z, we learn about what drives Zach and Angelo's open relationship. As I've stated before, I'm not a fan of open relationships in my romance books. However, learning that Zach was a voyeur and that Angelo had sexual encounters with other men for Zach helped me to understand them better. It softened me to Angelo to learn that he was totally willing be monogamous if that's what Zach wanted. I still have a difficult time reconciling the concept of an open relationship with my vision of HEA but putting Zach and Angelo's relationship into context made the situation more palatable for me.

Just when I was feeling more solid and secure about the pseudo-swingers, however, they fly to Paris for Jonathan's and Cole's wedding ... and things go haywire. Honestly, I did NOT get Zach's unresolved feelings for Jonathan. Talk about irresponsible dating. You don't get involved (and, according to Zach, fall madly in love) with someone (i.e., Angelo) when you're still hung up on your ex. F*ck up much??? Zach's claim that he and Angelo shared unconditional love and trust is inconsistent with his unresolved feelings for Jonathan. (view spoiler) It just didn't add up. I was extremely frustrated with Zach as he repeatedly betrayed Angelo (if not in deed, in spirit).

The closure Zach and Jonathan gained in the end was great but I couldn't help but feel that it all wrapped up a little too neatly. Angelo was understanding and supportive as Zach grieved for what he and Jonathan lost. Okay. I can see that. But then Angelo never questioned their relationship. It seemed reasonable for Angelo to think that he was who Zach settled for since it didn't work out with Jonathan. That's a sh*tty way to feel, I don't care how grounded you are. Needless to say, Zach is my least favorite character right now.

Bottom line: a good book but too frustrating at times for me to really enjoy it.(less)

Having read the whole series, I figure it's time for a review.

'Promises' and 'Strawberries for Dessert' are the hands down best books of the entire series. Judging from the other reviews, I gather it's the same for the rest too. I loved Promises the most, because I adored how Jared and Matt were friends before lovers, and they were absolutely adorable as friends. (So much so that heck, I probably wouldn't even mind that they don't end up together). Cole, Jon, and Angelo, were simply fabulous too...more

Not so good. It’s a reunion book.

I read this by mistake. I wanted to read “A to Z” (Book 2 in the series) which was the story of Zach and Angelo. They met and developed a relationship in Book 2. Instead I bought this Book (5 or 6) which is Zach and Angelo already in a relationship, and they take a trip to Paris. Three separate couples get together for a wedding. In this book our four men travel to Paris to attend Cole and Jonathan's wedding. From the get go, you know this book is going to be full of drama. I still love Matt and Jared. The epiphany that Matt has in this book is very revealing and Jared is still the sweetest. Zach and Angelo grow into their relationship and while they are still devoted to each other, I am not as comfortable with their relationship as I am with Matt and Jared. The only response was stunned silence, and I finally turned to smile at him. "Do you want to reconsider?" I asked.

His dark eyes were huge, and I could see so much in them. He was excited, almost giddy. I could see it bubbling up in him, but he was trying t stay calm and not get his hopes up. "Can we afford Paris?"

"Oh dear God," Mat moaned, hanging his head. "I knew I shouldn't have come."
"Don't worry about it a bit," Cole said. "I'm sure Zach can coax at least one more out of you."
