I am giving this book 5 stars!Out of all my many childhood memories only a few would stand out, and there's always a reason why.Sure, not all of us experienced happy childhood but travelling back to those memories made me understand myself better.More so, my husband. We are our each other childhood sweethearts back in the days and its just an amazing feeling that we are now married. This book helped me understand more some of his traits, emotions that even if Ive known him all my life i found it ve...more

One and a half stars. It had a lot of potential, and from what I was able to glean in my drifting-in-and-out-of-consciousness and half-hearted skimming of this book, the premise is, indeed, interesting.
The author of this book has gained much notoriety for his theory and accompanying books on birth order and how that influences your personality. This book was just another way for him to peddle those theories. And, oh my goodness, how he LOVES to talk about himself. I'm actually a big fan of pers...more

I have another book of Leman's that I got when it was free, and I am not particularly crazy about it. However, that book has more of a Q&A format, which I didn't really like, so I'm hoping this one turns out to be better. But with an average rating of 3.00 stars... we'll see.

I have been reading several of his books and I am really enjoying them. It makes me think about things that I haven't thought about. I know for sure this will help me being a better mom to my daughter and a better wife to my husband. Also I know that I can get some insight for when I become a teacher.

Step by step, Kevin helps us to really think about why we do what we do...so that we can really think about making changes where we want to make changes. A very pertinent book for anyone who is not 100% satisfied with either their upbringing or their reactions to life.

Insightful. A good aid for those on a journey of self discovery. I learnt about my private logic and hidden areas in my life which need reconstructing... another step towards self actualisation. I wish I was sitting in an office with Dr Leman though!!

It's very similar to his other books, but there were some new nuggets (especially the insight into why we repeat negative behaviors and how to recognize when your memories are just wrong/severely skewed and methods of correcting them).

What three memories prior to the age of 8 do you remember? What do they all have in common? Find the thread and discover how those early childhood memories are affecting you in your present life.

The reader can gain new insight into how a person's childhood affects them later in life. Very informative and the writer gives much food for thought.

I found it difficult to remain interested in this read.

I bought this at the airport on a whim.

I downloaded this book because it was free. Little did I know it would change how I view my life. It was a great book. It help me to understand why I do the things that I do and why that's ok! I have recommended this book to others and they too came way feeling good about themselves. A true self help book!

I gave this a 3 even though I didn't finish it. It had some interesting things, but I got bored halfway through it.

I especially like the chapter towards the end of the book about making positive memories for your own children. It reminded me to be more deliberate in my actions to create a good environment for my children.

Dr. Leman is entertaining and very easy to read. Interesting subject. I bookmarked one page of questions to go back and ask my husband.

More of self help then what i was looking for....interesting concepts though and found some validity.

I started this book over a year ago and got through the meat of it and was able to use some of the exercises to uncover certain gifts and passions that I didn't realize were there or simply ignored. I finally finished that last chapter. It's a great tool if you need help finding yourself.

I downloaded this on my Kindle and it was free which was the only reason I downloaded it. There is a lot of redundancy and it isn't quite what I thought it was going to be. In all honesty, I couldn't finish it. I read 3/4 & I'm done.

This book reminds me of my bs essays that I'd write in high school in that it was a bunch of blah, blah, blah almost completely void of actual information.
Greta
Interesting to a degree - but I also believe that while your childhood may form who you are, as an adult, you still choose your actions.
