This is a book it seems for the "Initiate" into Transcendence or Enlightenment, to be used in his mind as a 'measuring stick' starting out with 'simpler concepts' evolving with depth and meaning further into the back of the text. Bearing in mind, Hawkins developed a 'scale' which many find to be a bit presumptuous, to put into numbers the level of the most gifted Sages and Intellectuals who have achieved Enlightenment...although there is no way to validate the scale. The Paradox is that an Enlig ...more

This is an amazing book. One of the things I really like about it is that it has quotes from a couple of Dr. Hawkins previous books such as Eye of the I, Power Vs. Force + more, and the quotes make it easier to understand his concepts. I use this in our study group to pass around and discuss the quotes. Very nicely written, love it!

The title of this pocket clearly identifies its content. It is Concise, no wasting of time with word play here. Dr Hawkins' humour is here as well, embedded in the absolute honesty of these quotes, making one laugh while saying to ones own lower self , "hell we knew that didn't we".

One example "the power of Truth itself is a quality of Divine Love that, in its infinite mercy, dissolves positionalities back into the Reality of the Self".

Not my style, mainly because it fails to take into account the necessity of the ego in establishing a relationship with the Self. Who does the seeing, listening, living unless it is our ego? Jung and Hawkins see from differing points of view, I'm in agreement with Jung.

Recommends it for: people familiar with David's work
Shelves: nonduality
A brief, handy summary of David's work. It's simply the brevity of this book that has caused me to give it only 3 stars; I wouldn't recommend this for those unfamiliar with David's ideas.

Very good read to get one to think about who we really are. His consciousness map is a good tool to determine one's level of consciousness.
