Although this is the third in the series about the four Blake sisters, this can be read as a stand-alone novel. Be warned though, the series is addictive and you'll soon want to read all three books in the series. I came to this series by reading about the sisters in Anna Jacobs' 'Traders' series. Set partly in Western Australia and partly in Ireland, this novel is about the twins Xanthe and Maia and what happens to them. While Maia is happily settled in Australia and secretly in love with her b ...more

This is the third book in a wonderful series by Anna Jacobs. The Swan River Series lives the story of the four Blake sisters who were effectively transported from Lancashire to Western Australia under challenging circumstance. I loved the first two stories, Farewell to Lancashire and Beyond the Sunset, and eagerly watched for the release date of Destiny's Path. I felt as though there was unfinished business in my mind as two Brake sisters were unsettled and I desperately needed to know what happ ...more

Destiny’s Path is the third book in the Swan River colony series, following Farewell to Lancashire and Beyond the Sunset- both of which I really enjoyed. The final book in the trilogy examines the lives of Xanthe and Maia, the Blake sister twins who live with Conn Largan and his mother in the Swan River colony, WA. Maia is Mrs Largan’s personal maid, very dedicated to her work and in love with Conn. Xanthe is a vivacious young housemaid who dreams of travelling the world, quite unusual for a you ...more

The third in the series of the Blake Sisters from Lancashire who went to Australia where 2 have settled, the other 2 sisters decided to return to England.

This story was not as good as the last 2, mainly I thought because of the over referecing of these girls being educated in a time when women were not - it seemed to over emphasised throughout the story.

It was still a good read.

I should have read this book before The Trader's Wife as it introduced many of the characters in that book. An enjoyable, easy read and a good way to finish the Blake sisters stories
