Review by Valerie: For those of you that read like to read books about lifelong friendships, this one’s a must! In the newest book from the series, two friends, Madelyn and Tessa, tell their stories from childhood into adulthood in alternating chapters. While Tessa has what seems like the normal family life a child should have, Madelyn does not. After years of being inseparable, their friendship splinters and ends as boys and growing up enter the picture.

This is book #4 in a very sweet series. This book focuses less on the characters of the previous 3 books, but focuses on 2 new characters who were children in New Bern and left, but now returned. Definitely a feel good story.

Madelyn Beecher has been giving the good life for many years, spending willy-nilly and never wondering where a penny is coming from. Hers is a marriage of convenience, as she is the trophy wife, beautiful and able to make her way through upper society without a blip. She lacked knowledge and so was thought beautiful but dumb at one time but quickly remedied that by slowly reading through the dozen books her husband, Sterling Baron, insisted she read. All in all, Madelyn has overcome the horrible

At the age of twelve, Madelyn Beecher and her best friend Tessa Kover had a misunderstanding that ended their friendship. Madelyn lived with her father's mother Edna, an aloof and unpleasant woman who abused her granddaughter, who had few friends and was considered odd.
Decades later, Madelyn's wealthy husband Sterling Baron is arrested for running a Ponzi scheme, and with no money and nowhere else to go, she reluctantly returns to New Bern, Connecticut, to the house she inherited from More...

Sometimes returning to your hometown brings you newfound joy and happiness that is unexpected. This is the story that features two women who have done just that. Madolyn and Tessa. They were once good friends, until the early teen years when Tessa turned on Madolyn and said some pretty hurtful things. Madolyn wasn't quite like everyone else, but at her young age had gone through some terrible times and dealt with loss. She needed a friend, and that friend was Tessa.

With her fourth installment in the Cobbled Court Quilting series, Ms. Bostwick introduces us to two distinctly different women who, once friends, tragically fell apart as children and, only now after experiencing separate trials and heartaches, find healing and restoration in renewal of their friendship. As Tessa and Madelyn, with the help of the growing Cobbled Court quilting circle, both learn there's little we can do on our own when hard times hit. Loss, grief, failure, mistakes...they all

If you think quilting is just for old fuddy-duddies, think again! This is a fun book of friendship and following your dreams. Here are a few favorite quotes:
"If you're just looking to reproduce somebody else's idea, you might as well buy a paint-by-numbers kit. Quilting isn't about replication. It's about self-expression, making it work, and making your own rules." - Virginia ( I would also add that it can be about re-purposing, reusing and recycling!)

This book is a lightly read novel that brings with it some interesting views of women entroproneurs (sp?). Tow best friends break their friendships in their yourng years and find themselves moving back to their home town as adults. They are both starting businesses for supporting themselves. One starts a business based on the need of the area and one starts a business on the love she has of herbs. They both get something they did not bargin for in their lives as business women. I love this book. Reading Marie Bostwick's books are always comforting and relaxing and definitely inspiring. This book is a refreshing change of pace about two old friends who reconnected again 30 years later after an incident in middle school that caused a split between the two of them. The other familiar characters of Cobblestone Court are there but they're mainly in the background as occassional characters, so this is a nice change of pace in Bostwick's collection of excellent books! I love

I had a hard time getting into the book at first. I admit, it was expectation of what I wanted to read. I was waiting for "my" friends at the Cobblestone Quilt Store to lead off the story.... but instead found 2 new main characters I didn't know. But, I am glad I continued reading. What delightful friends these new characters became and I didn't want the book to end....... I wanted to see how they changed and grew in their new adventures. Marie, please continue the series. I want

Marie Bostwick's Cobbled Court series just gets better and better. I was a little disconcerted when I realized the main characters from the previous books didn't play as big a role this time as they have in the past. After I "got over" that, I thought the book was wonderful. All of these books are really stories of strong friendships among women as well as quilting. They are a joy to read, and I always learn something about myself or something to hopefully make me a better person when

In this novel about faith, friendship and forgiveness, the characters are likeable and in depth. It reads like a magazine article about friends. I read this as a stand alone novel, however there are a few before it. I enjoyed that in the tradition of books like The Firday Night Knitting Club Series the women have a crafty hobby that brings them together, yet in this book I feel it was one of the first in the genre to include the male dynamic into the storyline. I enjoyed the book and have fo

Number 4 of the Cobbled Court Series. Introduced several new characters and this was their story. Other characters from the first 3 books had very supporting roles. Would have preferred new characters not to have been front and center throughout the book. Did like how new and old characters interacted but old characters should have been brought in more. Recommend if you like stories with a knitting theme, about friendships and if you're a fan of Marie Bostwick.

This was a good stand alone novel in the Cobblestone Court series. Madelyn and Tessa, childhood friends, have both returned to New Bern, Connecticut to start new lives. Tessa and her husband Lee have started both a farm and an herbal products shop called A Touch Of Lavender. Although the poor economy is starting to affect both enterprises, Tessa thinks they can weather the financial storm. Madelyn has no where else to go but to the run down cottage her grandmother left her. Because of her teena

I loved this book. It was one of those easy reads that filled up a rainy afternoon or two. Bostwick spices the story with homey advice for living a satisfying life as she tells the story of two close friends. The ending is a typical "happy ever after" like, but I enjoy those. It has a reader's guide in the back for those who belong to book clubs, and if you do, this would be an excellent choice.

This is the last book in a series of 4 and I read it first : ( It was a great story. the series is set in New Bern Conn. and features the Cobbled Court Quilt Shop. The story revolves around changed circumstances and how much friendship helps to overcome even the worse situations!!! I likes the characters and how they changed to trimuph over their challenges.

This was my first reading of Marie Bostwick's Cobbled Court novels. She's a great story teller and the subject matter involving complex friendships woven with their respective histories, artistic, creative and sewing talents set in a small town truly held my attention. This book was truly a blessing during many days in the hospital!

I really like this series about a group of women quilters in New Bern, CT. Each book introduces new characters but incorporates them into the group of quilting friends. Marie Bostwick has a true talent for making each novel as interesting as the last and I always look forward to her next one.

This was a very good addition to the Cobbled Court Series. I was a little worried about the series as the third book, A Thread So Thin, didn't hold my interest. However, this installment drew me in and I finished it in one day! I very good book about friendship and community.

What a wonderful story this was...It's a continuation of her previous books and it is much about quilting. I am not a quilter but I really enjoy her books. Love her characters, they are all so real.. Hurry with the next book, Marie, I am anxious to read how things turn out for Maddie and Jake....

I enjoyed reading this book, an easy read. One of my Facebook friends is the author. The friendship between women, their ways of uplifting one another in a time of crisis was inspirational to me. It was just what I needed when I was reading it.

I really liked this book. I liked the interaction between the women, and the dynamics of disfunctional families and learning how to put the past in the past.
I would gladly read more of this series...it was the first I read.

This was an ok book. Still not up to the second book she wrote in this series. Bostwick tried a different approach with this book and wrote about two totally different characters than the first books. The other characters are there but the story doesn't focus on them at all. I was disappointed that she didn't follow the lives of the original characters more.

Wonderful!! I like how Marie makes her characters real by adding in themes of currnet events. I was alos her lucky winner of the thimble featured on the front cover:-) It is beautiful:-)

A novel that takes place in a small community in Connecticut. It revolves around a group of quilters. It's an easy read and I plan to read more of this author.

I really enjoyed this. I had just piked it up at the library without knowwing anything about it. I found it was the fourth in a series and I plan to go back and read the other three.

I won this book on GoodReads, 'First Reads'.
This book was a nice change of pace for me. The characters are older (as in middle life) and there was no fantasy. Not a bit. I did just see that this is book #4 in the series, but I didn't feel I was missing anything not having read the prior 3 books. Maybe I'll pick them up now.
The feel of this book was a bit religious, but not overly so. There were themes of redemption and growth. That I like. A nice uplifting read!
