Here on Goodreads I've found only positive reviews, so I suppose it's up to me to correct the misconception that this is a good book.

The story begins with a prologue containing some useless stuff written from the POV of the werewolf bad guy; in the first chapter, Zoey is attacked by said bad guy. I enjoyed reading this new addition to the Paranormal Romance world. I thought it had a good balance between new world building, character building, the overall story, and the romance between Connor and Zoey. The one thing I will say about the romance though is that it flowed really well and was pretty gradual in the beginning, but then the "l" word and "forever" started being thrown around a little too fast for me. I think it would have been nice to have a bit more steaminess, but at the same time a little bit more of a struggle in their relationship. It just seemed a little too easy for them at times.

However, I did like the characters in the book. I liked Zoey. I thought she had a really good balance of strong-willed and able to melt into her man's arms going on. She annoyed me a bit when Connor first told her about him. But at the same time, if I was in her shoes in real life, I probably would have reacted the same way, so I can't say too much about that. I also loved that the Pack leader was a female. You don't often see that in werewolf stories. Sometimes they'll be second in command, but not top dog (no pun intended). So I loved that.

I loved that Connor and his family originated from Scotland. I really like it when a werewolf story does that. Although, I thought it would have been better if Connor still had his Scottish accent. That would have made him all the more sexy!

Overall I thought this was a pretty solid first in a series book. I'm hoping that the next book will have a bit more conflict as far as the relationship goes just to make things a little more interesting. But I am looking forward to seeing the Macleod's find love and to see this world develop and grow as the books continue.

I’ve always had a soft spot for shapeshifters. Unfortunately, in a genre overrun with a plethora of supernaturals, it’s becoming harder and harder to find a paranormal romance that stands out. I’m happy and relieved to say that “Changeling Moon” achieved that goal for me.

Zoey was a heroine that I fell in love with instantly. She is capable of taking care of herself and she doesn’t wait for men to save her. Her dedication to her job as Editor was refreshing. Her self-imposed alienation from her family tugged at my heartstrings. See, she comes from a long line of psychics. Her own gift is precognition. But while her female relatives embraced their psychic abilities, Zoey wanted nothing to do with it, mostly because it made her feel helpless and like a freak. It was a pleasure watching her battle with and eventually come to terms with her innate ability.That’s not to say that Zoey was the best heroine ever. Her stubborn unacceptance of the Changelings annoyed the living hell out of me. Other than that, I thought she was great.

As for Connor, what wasn’t amazing about him? A veternarian werewolf shifter who loves his job, he was the complete package. Caring and sensitive. Physically and emotionally strong. Humorous and intelligent. Dedicated to his family and pack-who almost stole the show themselves. He had more patience with Zoey while she struggled with own internal battles that I probably would have. He made for such a great hero that I can’t think of anything bad to say about him.

I thought the plot line about the rogue Changeling was exceptional. There are two villians in this story and both have their own unique brand of heinous. I don’t want to say too much and spoil the story, but I think readers will be surprised at not only the outcome but the other secrets that are revealed.

It was a pleasure to read the first book in this very promising series by Dani Harper. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more about the rest of the Macleod clan as they find their own happily ever afters.

I haven't read a werewolf book for awhile so this was a nice book to bring me back into it. The plot wasn't contrived, I really liked the two main characters and the sex scenes were written well.

Not a bad changeling story considering it was free AND the plethora out there on the market right now.

I can't really explain the rationale behind it, but I like werewolf books better than vampire books. I haven't read any of either for a while so when I had a chance to get this book for 50% off on Cyber Monday, I went for it.

This book managed the exact right balance. It didn't take itself too seriously, after all it is about werewolves, or changelings as the characters prefer to be called.

I must say, I was impressed with this book on many levels. Normally, I can't stand "line" romance because of rampant editing errors (P.O.V. changes within the same paragraph/scene, for example); cheesy, overly stereotypical, cardboard characters; and tired plots. Connor Macleod is a werewolf and he also happens to have some type of foreboding ability. One night he gets a feeling that someone is in danger and ends up finding Zoey Tyler on the verge of being eaten by another werewolf. He saves her and sparks fly almost immediately. Zoey is the town’s newspaper new editor. She came to this isolated Canadian town to escape from her own foreboding ability (she can see the future but she is always too late to do something about the bad things she sees). Instead of finding peace she finds herself being rescued from certain death by sexy veterinarian Connor Macleod. What she doesn’t know is that because of the attack she is about to become a wolf herself.

Because werewolves are so in vogue right now it was a pleasant surprise to see that Dani managed to give a twist to the classic myth without deviating much from the original version, making these werewolves interesting and refreshing to read. There were some common elements to them like the mating bond and the pack’s alpha, but there were some original things like the fact that the alpha was a female and that the silver bullet was converted to silver nitrate and instead of killing them just acted like a “cure” suppressing the ability to shift thus killing the wolf but not the man.

I loved Connor. He wasn’t the regular alpha male hero we are used to find in this type of stories; instead, he was a sensitive and caring person. He did have his dominant almost alpha-hole moments, but he was sweet and loving. The best part about him was that even though he was very protective of Zoey he wasn’t overbearing, which was great because she wasn’t one of those weak heroines that just sit around waiting to be saved.

Zoey was a great heroine because as I said she was strong but she wasn’t stupid, she knew when to stay put but she also knew when it was time for her to do the saving. I loved that it took some time for her to get used to the fact that Connor was a werewolf, the big reveal takes some time to come and it’s a big part of the story, but once it comes Zoey’s reaction was realistic and that just made me like her even more.

The secondary characters were fantastic and since this is an ongoing series I can’t wait to read more about the Macleod brothers. The second book is already out and I’m about to start it but the third won’t hit stores until next year which is bad because I can’t get enough of these sexy werewolves.

The book is quite dark and it has an evil villain who does some very bad things, but there’s also plenty of romance. The book is incredible well-balanced although I think it might be more romance than suspense.

My only complaint about it is a bit of a spoiler so I’ll try to be as vague as possible but it involves animal brutality and I just hate that, I do see how it goes with the plot but since I don’t like anything bad happening to animals in real life or in fantasy, it bothered me to see it here.

Overall this book had everything I look for in a good paranormal romance: an interesting plot, great world-building, some suspense, a scorching-hot alpha male hero and a strong and likeable heroine. If you are a fan of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance then this should be on your to-be-read-list because it is a great addition to the genre.(less)

Ms. Harper brings humor, heat and more than a little taste of evil to this tale of supernatural beings and their society. Zoey has secrets of her own and is a spunky woman who can hold her own amongst wolves, mean reporters and one hunky vet. Connor is a bit of a gentle giant, a vet that can’t stand to see an animal put down, so has a huge menagerie of pets on his farm. He has a quirky sense of humor and a body that just won’t quit. When Zoey and Connor get together sparks fly and there is always some good give and take between them.

There is a great group of secondary characters, members of Connor’s family and the local pack, that pull the story together and make it an interesting mix of paranormal and a picture of small town life. There is a great villain, Bernie Gervais. He’s the town drunk, a changeling and out for blood and to bring down the Macleod’s.

I enjoyed this book, it was a quick easy read and good escape. There was good chemistry between Zoey and Connor with enough give and take between them to keep you interested. Even though Zoey has a secret of her own and knows that things aren’t always as they seem, she doesn’t just immediately accept the existence of changelings. Her reactions are fun and poor Connor’s attempts to convince her are amusing. There is a good balance between the light hearted scenes and the serious scenes, so the reader doesn’t get bored. There is some violence, some of it pretty intense, but not too much to make one cringe. There are some pretty heated sex scenes. While not erotica by any means, they aren’t PG either. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books about sexy shape shifters, spunky women and sleazy villains.

This book wasn't too bad. It wasn't one I would have ordinarily picked up, because as I see the cover now I realized that it was a bodice ripper. And I don't generally read Romance. But since I checked it out from the Library using Overdrive, I didn't really see the cover. This, I would say, is one drawback to ebooks - it's harder to make the same judgement calls you would about print books.

Changeling Moon is a good start to a new paranormal romance series. The author has a very tight story along with some great characters. The changeling is very well explained and has some different touches then most shape shifting stories, I very much enjoyed them. You get a suspenseful storyline with plenty of danger.

What an awesome book. I love a girl who isn't a damsel in distress but still knows when she needs someone to help her. Zoey is feisty and brave and was a lot of fun to read.
I loved Connor, he was so full of passion and always there to help. The ending on his farm broke my heart! He was really too good to be true at times.

I've had this on my TBR list for a couple of months and my only regret is not reading it sooner! I loved the book, it was well written with a great plot and great characters! Wow what an awesome start to this series. I loved it. It was engaging and held my interest until the final word.
I enjoyed meeting all of the characters, they were warm and funny and Changelings...oh and let's not forget sexy alpha males...
Zoey is intelligent and not a push over. Connor is strong and sexy and loves Zoey. I liked the way their relationship developed and it didn't drag out to long.
The whole story moved at a confortable pace. I hung on every word and hated to put it down.

This novel has 280 pages on the Nook. I thought book had a good storyline that kept you reading. The characters were defined and very likeable. This is the first book in the Changeling series. After reading this book I will be looking for more books by Dani Harper.

As she tries to tell the town residents of the attack, no one seems to believe that she was attacked by a wolf, and insist it was just a dog. The only person who doesn’t deny the wolf attack, is the handsome man who saved her that night, Connor Macleod.

Zoey soon discover the reasons why the town’s residents want her to stay quiet about the incident. The town holds an old legend… Zoey doesn’t believe the legend at first, that is, until the next full moon.

Changeling Moon is a brilliant and captivating new paranormal romance series. Dani Harper does a fantastic job in bringing her characters to life through her detailed descriptions and use of relatable emotions. Connor is a caring and handsome veterinarian with special abilities, and who will do everything he can to protect Zoey from being affected by the wolf’s bite. Zoey is a strong, determined, and passionate woman who feels an instant connection to Connor. There is enormous amount of bottled up lust and chemistry between these two characters from the very start, however, their connection may very well be their downfall.

My favorite elements of Changeling Moon are the various abilities presented within the novel. I enjoyed Dani Harper’s description of the Changelings, how their abilities are inherited through generations, however, a regular individual can also become a changeling through a single bite. The method to reverse the transition once a person has been bitten is also intriguing. Changeling Moon is a refreshing take on the usual shapeshifting novels. The beautiful cover captures some elements within the novel that may not be obvious at first, and incorporated into the story very nicely.

This novel is the start of a wonderful series. I recommend this Changeling Moon to those who enjoy Paranormal Romance and shapeshifter tales.

She's in a new town, with new people, and some old legends....

Zoey is the new editor of the paper in town, and one night, during a cold rain/sleet storm, she is attacked by a wolf, until someone rushes out of the dark to save her. But as she tries to tell people it wa a wolf and not a dog, some aren't quite believing.

Except for the ones who know. And they don't want her to tell. Seeing as how she's a newspaper editor, she could very easily find out the truth and write about it, for the whole...more
