This book is Hayden's and I have loved him in the previous books, he's an ex-marine turned teacher and is wonderful with his cousins and family even though he is not the commitment sort, only thirty days with a woman, when he gets a call he never expected Ronni's, she the mother of his nephew, the son of his dead brother Ian and ever since Ian died they have not had any contact despite his nephew, you see the whole family blames Ronni for breaking Ian's heart.

Nick has been caught with pot and Ro

Gable always packs the emotion, and she certainly delivers in As Good as His Word. Solid story, big issues, felt like it needed more space for whole story. Always enjoy SG's books & this was no exception.

The heroine Ronni's 14 year old son Nick has just been placed on probation after being arrested, to try and keep him out of further trouble the court suggests appointing a 'big brother'. Ronni asks her sons uncle Hayden, the hero, to do this and he agrees. We discover that Ronni and her son's father Ian (Hayden's brother) became teen parents after an accidental pregnancy. Ian sadly died of leukemia not long after. At the time Ronni has been scared and distraught at the thought of losing the man ...more

Cheeky Summary: This book blew me away with how real and emotional it was. Susan Gable has won a new fan with this book – It was my first of hers and will not be my last. This book knocked my socks off and I totally wasn't expecting it!

This was not only my first Susan Gable book, but my first time trying out the Harlequin Super Romance line and I was extremely surprised by how much I loved it. Knowing that the line does include many books with children as part of the story, I've shied away as b

Susan Gable just knows how to do it all. Not only can she find deep, twisty conflicts that both grab the heartstrings and yank, but are also real and believable. And seemingly impossible to resolve. I have never been disappointed by one of her books and do not ever expect to be. In this story, I started off thinking I understood the problems between the main characters--and then she dumped in another one. And then Another problem, and then she made it worse. And yet she never went over the top w ...more

I live in Erie, PA, with my husband and son, who both support me in this crazy venture of becoming a published author, an English Mastiff, who doesn't really care one way or another as long as she's fed and someone rubs her belly, and a large aquarium full of fish. (They belong to the dh and son.)

Books have always been my constant companions, all the way back to when I was reading Gus, The Friendl
