This was so cute! Almost made me want to run down to the Humane Society and bring home a few kittens.
Illustrator David Walker must have kittens because he sure knows how to depict them in all their many poses. The rhyming text describes what kittens do while they grow up, which is mostly getting into trouble--"climbing curtains, shredding chairs..." The picture of the kitten looking uncomfortable wearing a collar and bell is all too accurate. I was a bit uneasy that there was no message or note...more

Illustrations and rhyming text portray kittens as they go from nestling newborns to proud, independent, and ready to have kittens of their own.
David Walker's illustrations eclipse Meyers's sweet rhymes to make this an absolutely gorgeous book
