This book is very special to me. Dr. Weber was our family's veteranarian in Central Florida in the 1970's. He was also a wildlife photographer. With his help, I became a foster mother (sanctioned by the State) and raised innumerable wild orphans, including birds, raccoons, flying squirrels and gray squirrels. The goal was always to rehabiliate them and release them to the wild. We had some heartbreaking failures and some wonderful successes. My dogeared copy remains on my bookshelf. This book is ...more

This was one of my favorite books as a kid. I would dream about caring for orphaned wild animals when I grew up. I begged my Mom to adopt a raccoon lol I did take in a lot of not so wild animals as a kid. My Mom dreaded me going for walks because she never knew what I might bring home! It's very detailed and accurate. I checked it out from the library as many times as I could. Fabulous for all animal lovers, especially children!
