This book includes an interesting section on the natural history of Yosemite and excellent trail descriptions from what we could tell. We hiked and camped on one less-popular trail and it was useful to have some of the descriptions and landmarks as described in the book (because we only talked with a volunteer ranger who was unfamiliar with the trail). This is an excellent natural history and trail guide to one of my most favorite places in the earth! Yosemite is unequalled in majestic beauty and natural wonders, IMHO. My favorite hikes are in the high country; however it is difficult to chose a favorite (perhaps Little Yosemite Valley and the rope climb up the back of Half Dome?). All hikes are well-covered in this trail guide.
