I read the "Young Mandie" books because, #1, I had read the original Mandie books and loved them, and #2, I got it for almost free. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered to read them. Obviously, they are for a younger audience, but they are still well-written. The mysteries are not nearly as mysterious, but they are still great books!

These are really well written kids books. Even the young Mandie series, which has a younger audience, seems to have really good writing. The moments of crisis are a less intense as is generally perceived as necessary for a younger audience, but it doesn't detract from the story. Great books to read aloud to children.

Who’s Mandie by Lois Gladys Leppard is the first in the Young Mandie mystery series and might be a good start at 123 pages. This is beginning Christian fiction chapter books.
