This supplement is a collection of mini-modules suitable for play in existing campaigns or as stand alone adventures. The following adventures are included:
Blood and Laurels The Circus of Gandolfo The House of Long Knives The Lauros Road Bandits Reign of Triumph Scavenger Hunt Sharla's Zoo Steaks Terror in Skytumble Tor To Kill A Kraken The Weird Woods of Baron Orchid
This is a book of side quests. Some of them are pretty neat, others... not so much. 1 of them is really bad, but still has a basic concept that is pretty cool.
It is curious as to why TSR put this collection of adventures out, seeing as how that was really the job of Dungeon magazine which had just started coming out the previous year. These adventures are of the type TSR was putting out in the late 80s, when they abandoned site-oriented play in favor of plotting and scripting. Unfortunately, most of the adventures in this book I would never run as written because scripting does not translate to enjoyable play, but they do contain some neat ideas here and there. For instance, you've got a mystery for the party to solve as to why a certain restaurant has food tasting SO good, why the freaks at a circus seem so lifelike, or you've got a relatively new concept with the competition between parties style adventure, though Role Aids did this better with their offering, Pinnacle. If none of the adventures were playable and only contained a nugget or two I might use later, this would have gotten 1, maybe 2 stars. However, one adventure To Kill A Kraken stands out from the rest. It is both a mini-campaign setting and great sea voyage adventure, which even runnable as it is, could be fleshed out even more.
