Starting from the title pages, Rudy’s mom has to catch him to get him into the bath. But once the bath is over, the real chase begins as “Nudie Rudy” runs through the house. Mom tries to catch him, but he runs into the living room. His Mom and brother run after him, but he’s into the kitchen. Now the dog, his father, and his sister join the chase. But Rudy is off into the back of the house, filled with plants. Now grandma and grandpa help look, because Rudy has disappeared. What in the world cou...more

I had to pry this book out of my daughter's hands with the promise that another copy would be placed on hold immediately. Seriously.

Toddler Rudy runs amuck after his bath with family (and readers) observing his hilarious exploits.

I'm curious if other librarians will try to utilize this title in storytime--and if so, what audience? Toddlers will not totally get it (even though Rudy is a their peer)--I would opt for preschoolers who may giggle at his silly shenanigans.

I know for sure that I have a...more

This is an adorable book that displays a common issue for parents--babies wanting to be naked. This book has a little boy who runs around the house naked after his bath. The whole family takes chase and in the end he dresses himself (in the mismatched style of a child). The book is perfect for Pre-K and has minimal words. The words that the book does have use rhyming.

My daughter is about to turn three and has always been a 'run from the bathroom naked as soon as bath time is over' little girl. My mother-in-law thought of her instantly when she saw this book. My daughter just LOVED it! Now instead of just running out of the bathroom, she runs away yelling 'no dressed'! The book was so much fun to read over and over with her and she loves to quote Rudy (but inserting her own name) as she runs naked around the house!

Although Sophie has taken her first steps, she doesn't run yet, but I can imagine that in a few months she will be like the Rudy in this story. After his bath, Rudy runs all around the house. Accompanied by Buddy the dog, he eludes parents, siblings, and grandparents. There's very little text - the pictures say it all in this delightful tale of a naked baby enjoying his freedom.

It's time for Rudy's bath, but his mom has to catch him first. Rudy does enjoy his bath but he does not want to get dressed. What follows is a humorous chase through the house after a naked baby.

Rather unimaginative, would have been better if the text had rhymed and not a great read-aloud as their are wordless panels that would need explanations

Coffelt and Nash team up for a hilarious and adorable story of a runaway baby who tries to elude getting dressed after a bath. Early readers will giggle as they accomplish reading this fun story written in a semi-graphic novel style. Parents will giggle as they remember how cute a naked baby on the run can be!

Perfect for the 3 to 6-year-old set, which is where two of my grandchildren currently are. An awful lot of picture books try too hard to be funny and fail, but this one is delightful.

The comic book art just doesn't work that well with themselves storyline. Early elementary kids may chortle at" Nudey Rudy" but is that who this was intended for?

Took a little while before I caught the puns... Silly and fun and plenty of details in the illustrations make this great for one-on-one sharing.

rudy runs around his house naked and chased by his family.
Ann
cute for the younger child--as long as you are ok with "NUDE RUDY"!
Polly
Much more an "oh how cute" book for adults than a story for children.

Nudity...reads like a comic book...confusing layout

Would be fun to pair with The Gingerbread Man.

Super cute story that brings back fond memories of bath time when #1, #2, and #3 were littles.
LOVED this.

Fun romp by Baby after a bath with the family joining in to catch him.
Ending is fun with the baby putting all his clothes on wrong.

Silly picture book done in comic book style of Rudie, a little boy who just wants to run naked through the house. Future streaker of America! Probably interest level for ages five and under only.
Beth
A kind of graphic novel for two-year-olds? Grand fun to read as the naked baby runs through the house.

I used to do this. "Save me Grandma! Save me!" while running away from Mommy after my bath.
