First posted on my blog, Legacy of a Writer.

I’ve found another author to add to my list of favorite suspense writers! Irene Hannon captured my attention in Fatal Judgment, but sold me hook, line, and sinker with Deadly Pursuit. Wowza! From the first page, I was drawn into this intricate plot and amazing, brave characters. But be forewarned, once you get into this book, it’s extremely hard to put down!

Getting a small introduction to Alison from Fatal Judgment, I was looking forward to reading her...more

I am a big fan of Irene Hannon’s work and I am not going to try to hide it; no, instead I am just going to gush a bit here. On Friday, Sept.9th, I am fortunate to interview her again on my blogtalk show The G-ZONE . I am really looking forward to it. I will put the link below right before the synopsis of the novel. I have a ton of questions for her but if you have any, just email or message me and I will be happy to add them to the list. Better yet, why not call in and ask yourself?

"Deadly Pursuit" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the second in the series, but you don't need to read the first book to understand this one, and the first book didn't spoiled in this one.

The characters were interesting and acted realistically to the situations they were in. (Side note: I've only met one man in real life that had dimples, yet it seems like 95% of current romantic heroes have them!) The details about the setting and jobs brought the story alive in my imagination with...more

Book 2 of the Guardians of Justice series is another fast-paced romantic suspense by Irene Hannon. In Deadly Pursuit, Alison Taylor is tricked into going on a date with her brother Cole's new partner, Mitch. Meanwhile, Mitch feels tricked into taking her as well. They are both pleasantly surprised. When Alison starts receiving prank phone calls and frightening gifts, Mitch feels as protective as Alison's two brothers. Alison's stalker progresses quickly from mildly disturbing to alarmingly threa...more

Deadly Pursuit by Irene Hannon
Being a social worker, Alison Taylor encounters some sticky situations and questionable people, so when usually things started showing up on her doorstep she wasn’t sure what to think or what was going on. No to worry though because she has 2 brothers and an ex-Navy SEAL to look out for her, and they will do whatever it takes to protect her.
I didn’t read the first book in this series, so I don’t know what I missed there, but I did enjoy this second one very much. I...more

I couldn’t wait to get this book since I had read (and reviewed) Fatal Judgment, the first book in the Guardians of Justice series. That one was a great read and I was looking for the same action-packed and intense story line. I certainly was not disappointed!

Starting with the first chapter of Deadly Pursuit, I was hooked. Although this is a continuation in the Guardians of Justice series, it can also be read as a stand-alone book. Ms. Hannon gives enough background to entice the new reader but...more

Another top notch novel from Irene Hannon! DEADLY PURSUIT, the second installment of the Guardians of Justice series was a great read, captivating me from the very start.

Alison Taylor pursues justice like her brothers, just without a badge. As a Social worker, Alison does her best to fight for women who’ve had a bad run of luck. She does everything she can to help these women get their children back and out of the social system. A noble cause. But someone doesn’t agree. Daryl Barnes, the ex-boy...more

AWESOMENESS! Totally AWESOMENESS! Yep. Irene Hannon has done it again. She has created a novel that is suspenseful, funny, inspiring, and just plain AWESOME! True to the description, this novel is Irene Hannon's writing at it's VERY best.

Picking up where Fatal Judgement left, Irene brings us a look into Alison's life. She is still getting over her accident from a year before. She's left physically challenged, and of course, emotional issues are a big part of her life, after her fiance left her....more

I would love to sing rave reviews about this book, but I just can't. I did enjoy the overall theme and story line but could have done with out all the physical descriptions of how beautiful Alison was and how handsome he was. It seemed there was a lot of emphasis put on the physical attraction of these two - a little over the top for me. I found myself skipping over entire parts when they were together because I was tired of reading about the sweet scent of her silky hair as it brushed against h...more

I've read 4 books by Irene Hannon (5 counting 'Deadly Pursuit') and I've enjoyed each one! Before I even started 'Deadly Pursuit', I fully expected to love it and I did!

I love how Irene writes suspense novels that keep me at the "edge-of-my-seat" without gratuitous violence or vulgar language. How she weaves romance in the story that doesn't involve explicit love scenes or things similar in nature.

'Deadly Pursuit' may be my favorite book so far that I've read by Irene. It is filled with interest...more

I LOVED this book!

The internal injuries were so severe she can no longer have children and her longtime boyfriend has broken-up with her because of the inquries. Her brothers Cole (a detective) and Jake (deputy Marshall and main character in Fatal Judgement)are very protective of her. Cole has decided to play match maker and sets Allison up wit...more

This is an amazing book. Deadly Pursuit is book 2 in the Guardians of Justice series, but is a very good stand alone book. This series is about two brothers and a sister. Book 1 Fatal Judgment was about the older brother and this book is mainly about Alison the sister.

Deadly Pursuit has lots of action, adventure and suspense, and throw in a sweet love story and you have a winner.

Alison has been through a lot in her life, but remains close to the Lord. Mitch who is an ex-Navy SEAL, but now a pol...more

Following the crippling car accident that left her with a metal rod in one leg, traumatic internal injuries, and a broken engagement, Alison Taylor threw herself into the work of regaining her independence. With two protective older brothers in law enforcement, keeping their stifling, if well-intentioned, hovering at bay could be as much of a challenge as dealing with the dark loneliness that overwhelms her when she least expected it. Mitch Morgan, a newly-arrived transfer to the St. Louis Polic...more

I first became acquainted with Irene Hannon’s writing with her last book, Fatal Judgement. I recall thinking the story was very good and well written, but I had a hard time enjoying the it because there were a lot of similarities between the book and the shooting that happened in Tucson at the time I was reading it. So, when the chance to read Irene’s new book, Deadly Pursuit, came along, I eagerly jumped at the chance. I wanted to be able to have many positive things to say about the book and I...more

I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoy this genre of Christian fiction. Some of that is probably due to my husband being ex-Navy, ex-police officer (now a preacher!). The pace was good without being too overdone. There were a few too many "coincidences" that had they not happened, the case would not have been solved, but overall it was a good story, well written.

I LOVE this heroine!! Alison is independent without being obnoxious about it--she isn't trying to constantly prove she can do every...more

Hang on to your hat, this book is very intense so much so that I had a hard time reading it in parts! That said I can't give it a full five stars not because it wasn't a thrilling, interesting read but it made me cringe so many times and I was genuinely creeped out! This is definitely NOT for the faint of heart. I read a lot of different books, including general market fiction which can get kind of grisly but I think this one takes the cake. For Christian fiction I'd definitely say it's more "ed...more

Very good book. I really liked both Alison and Mitch. Alison is a social worker who is also recovering from bad injuries she received in a car accident and a broken engagement. Alison's dedication to her job and how determined she is to help the women and children she worked with can also make her some enemies. She has two over-protective older brothers who worry that she isn't moving ahead with her life. Cole talks her into helping out his new partner Match by attending a family wedding with hi...more

Let me start how by saying that I love love love Irene Hannon's novels. Her christian romantic suspense rank aomong my most read books. I have reread her books so many times that it is not even funny.

Irene Hannon has a way with words. There are very few novels I read and then immediately want to reread, but Hannon's novels always fit that bill.

Deadly Pursuit was no exception. I loved her characters Allison and Mitch. Their chemistry was undeniable and I really liked that.

This really is Hannon at her best. The suspense is there from the very first page, but it's the developing romance that held my attention in the beginning. Beautifully developed -- so natural -- loved the teasing conversations, the banter, the inner thoughts not yet divulged. And then..Kaboom!!!!!!! I was shocked. Truly stunned! I'd seen the foreshadowing but I didn't think she'd actually do it!!!!! Noooooooooooo - I whimpered as I rabidly turned pages. But even in the midst of the angst the her...more

Irene Hannon has a knack for incorporating pulse-pounding and nail-biting elements in her stories and developing characters that leap off the page!

The level of suspense in this book definitely borders ‘deadly’ and should you try to put the story down for even one minute, it’ll ‘pursue’ you leaving you no other choice than to sit tight and anxiously wait for the ending.

Then the romance. Bonus point for the author because she really does deliver a heart-melting love story. ( Hmmm… I even thought...more

Deadly Pursuit is second out of a trilogy. I was really excited to have a book primarily about a woman instead of a man.

That being said, Alison Taylor is an excellent female lead. Ms. Hannon had me hurting for Alison since we were introduced to her in Fatal Judgement. A year ago, Alison was in a nasty car-wreck leaving her behind with many injuries including a few that wouldn't heal. Something I adored about her was that she didn't let that stop her. She moved on. She thrived at her job and enj...more
