Shellie Chambers is supposed to be on a quick, relaxing break, visiting her lifelong best friend, Riley Hamilton. Seeing his dimpled smile all over again has her thinking their friends-only relationship needs to add a lovers option in this small town.

This was a really short but sweet story about two old friends falling in love.
Riley left his bad-boy days behind and leads a quiet and responsible life as a farmer in Apple Trail, Arkansas. Shellie just needs to take a breather from her overbearing mother, so she decides to visit her old friend Riley. What she doesn't count on is the white-hot, sizzling attraction between them. She knows Riley finds her attractive but why is he always rejecting her?

Riley and Shellie were really sweet and hot tog

On The Fence is Keri’s second book in her Apple Creek series. The first book in the series, Through The Wall, blew me away with its character insight and writing level. On The Fence was good, but I had some issues with parts of it.

Shellie has been listening to her mother put her down her entire life. Her mother belittles her and makes her feel as if she isn’t good enough. Wanting to escape that she heads to an old friends house for a little R&R. And maybe a hot fling on the side. The instant

Shellie has lived her life with an overbearing mother who has “tutored” her throughout her childhood on how to meet a rich man to marry. She’s never quite lived up to her mother’s expectations and her mother truly did not like her best friend throughout her childhood, Riley. Riley had a reputation for fast cars, loose girls, and having a good time as a teen. Shellie was always careful so she didn’t disappoint her mother. Riley and Shellie spent a lo

Rating: 7.8 out 10 - GOOD READ!

First line:
There was no way around it. Catching Mr. Right was damn hard work.

Memorable Scenes:
-the four-wheeler scene > wow!
- bathroom scene > double wow!

Shellie Chambers and Riley Hamilton are childhood friends. The last time they saw each other was 6 years ago but when her mom is driving her bat-shit crazy, Shellie seeks refuge with the friend she knows will pull her back from the ledge. But devil-may-care, good-times Riley has transformed into responsibl

Review by Ivelisse: Shellie Chambers goes to see her long-time friend from high school Riley Hamilton to get away from her mother. What she didn't expect were the feelings she got once she saw Riley again. She decides she is going to go for it and try to have a fling with him but his past is makes it almost impossible. Shellie realizes he has changed and not sure if she likes the change she sees in him and is destined to get the spark back into his eyes. Can Riley deny her what she wants when in ...more

Author Keri Ford has penned a marvellous short story of two characters that are totally right for each other and who should have given a relationship between them a try in the past. I really liked Shellie pushing Riley’s buttons, and getting him to loosen up so he’d have a constant reminder of what their friendship was like in the past – wild and sometimes carefree. However, Riley denying the chemistry between them, was exasperating at times until he confessed his reasons behind his indifference ...more

Good follow up and I am definitely reading more by this author!
Judy & Marianne from Long and Short Reviews
This short story packs a punch in only a few pages. Author Keri Ford did a fabulous job giving me all the backstory and fabulous characterizations I needed without force-feeding, all the while keeping me invested in finding out what was going to happen to our hero and heroine.

Shellie has been molded by her mother into a mini-me, and has spent her life trying to find Mr. Right – but only if his wallet is fat enough. You’ve heard the phrase “It’s as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor

Reuniting with Riley was supposed to lead to all kinds of uninhibited fun, but Shellie never expected for him to be tamed!

Riley's a changed man these days. Running a farm is a lot of work and responsibility, but it also effectively keeps him busy and away from temptations that will lead him back to the life he once lived. Although fun, that life is littered with mistakes and regrets and life-altering consequences. He's learned to enjoy a steadied life – slow paced and productive, yet he still y

Review Of On The Fence By Keri Ford

I loved this story. This is another story I read blind, meaning I didn't read the blurb first. I am so glad I didn't because when I found out about the reasons behind his transformation from skirt chaser to farmer I was like OMG. Riley is the kind of best friend ever girl should have. He gets you to live slightly on the edge without pushing you over it and causing you to loss yourself. Shellie is that girl some of you may know as, the one who has the rich mothe

I first want to say, I always read the reviews to books on Goodreads before reading a book. I previously read Through The Walls by Keri Ford and I loved it. I couldn't believe the ratings were only at 3 stars on Goodreads, so I was a little nervous. Well, there is now a 5 star rating on there. In fact, I loved this one probably just a little more then the last one. I fell in love with Shellie and Riley as characters and my complaint is this book needed to be longer. I might need a follow up on ...more
This was cute. I liked it but not as much as Through the wall.

Maybe I read a lot of pervy romances but I am not getting why this series is 'Uninhibited in Apple Trail'. The Uninhibited part confused me, not that Apple Trail part. I saw the normal inhibitions in this book. No sex on a horse, or nookie at a fair... (somehow/where) those things are uninhibited. Sex swings are uninhibited. Nookie in the bathroom of a friend's house at a party is not uninhibited. Who hasn't done that or watched an a

Super athlete Charlie finds herself having middle-of-the-night conversations with her next door neighbor, Braden, whom she’s always considered to be like a brother. Neither of them can sleep and find solace in discussing things (such as who knows who better) between the fence posts when no one else is around.
This is my favorite type of novels to read. They are full of love, cheesy and my favorite. This book touched me in its own way.

Shellie and RIley. Yum! Another couple who had a solid past so the coupling wasn't out of left field and it was steamy!!! Loved that we got to see Parker and Stephanie again. I really enjoy like it when an author creates a "community" and we see more of them during a series. So even though we don't get long stories or epilogues we still know what's going on with them.
I am so liking these Apple Trail books! This one may have been even steamier than the first! Still on the short side, but packed with enough info on the characters and plot that you don't feel rushed through it! Nice story line that has everything we need, including a hot as hell bathroom scene!

Steamy short read. I love the country but I might have to draw the line at mud puddles :) I grew up in a small farm town and I am positive there were no sexy farmers.

This one was too quick and sort of impersonal. Didn't feel like I knew either the hero or heroine. Especially the heroine.

I'm really liking Apple Trail. Fast paced well rounded read. I'm ready for the next one, IN THE HAY.
Sweet tale of friends reunited and turned to lovers. It was cute, but not exceptional in any way. This short format slays me.

Keri Ford brings sexy contemporary romance to the American South. With a sprinkling of men in suits and women in high heels, you’ll most likely find four-wheeler riding, ball cap wearing fellas trying to sweet-talk sundress wearing ladies in Keri’s books. Raised in the country in South Arkansas, Keri shares this flavor of life in her books. Glass of sweet tea at your elbow while you read is not ...more
