In some ways this book comes across as no more than a collection of blog posts. That's not necessarily a bad thing -- it is a good introduction to how social/new media is changing PR and a very good overview of the areas, tools and strategies PR practitioners need to think about.

The case studies Breakenridge uses aren't quite as nicely explored and laid out as in many other business books. But that would have taken much more time to write. Always a danger when the field is changing as much as it

I was incredibly disappointed by this book. The author may know a thing or two about PR, they may even have leveraged the web in support of PR initiatives, but the author clearly is not a technologist, and their understanding of web based services, and technology generally, is superficial at best.

To get straight to the point, the book abounds in flowery language that reads like a marketing manifesto. There are words on a page, but more often than not, they say nothing. I came to this book expect

This is a great book and a wonderful resource for those new to PR as well as those who have been in the game for a while. It's all about putting the "public" back in PR. Bonus: Dierdre is also really nice!

i read this a few years back (in 2008). It's an excellent book that breaks it all down, though I believe that there should now be a PR 3.0, if not 4.0. Is there? I'm gonna find out....
