I have to say that I've read my fair share of books in my life time but this one is a first! Laura definitely has the gift of story telling with the way she describes everything. She really makes you feel like you were witnessing every word first hand.

Ever wonder what it would be like for a teenager to come to terms with the fact that she's a witch when every fiber of her being doesn't want to accept it? Destiny brings you to that place with that teenager. It takes you over the journey t...more

    Destiny
    By Laura DeLuca

I was given a copy of Destiny by Laura DeLuca in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this wonderful story. The cover of this book was absolutely beautiful and the white rose was deplicted in the story. It was well developed and fast paced. Laura took her time in creating each and everyone of her characters. The characters of Gabriella, Darron, Flora, Shelly and Monte were so intense that you were able to feel their emotions and couldn't help bu...more

This story was very entertaining with some pagan roots and earth magic about a young girl who does not know she is a witch as her mother was murdered due to a curse by an evil warlock.
Although it does not necessarily reflect true witchcraft, paganism and wicca,it makes a very interesting story and keep in mind if You are a witch-it is fictional.
It shows how someone who is power hungry will become evil and attack innocent people in order to steal their power. He murdered this young witch's mother...more

In”Destiny” we meet Darron and Gabriella and their friends who eventually make up their coven, even though they are mortal. Darron and Gabriella are witches, although it takes a while for Gabriella to admit it to herself or anyone else. During this story they face an evil witch who is trying to convert them to evil or kill them, and boy is there a whopper of a twist in this novel.. well several but one that totally came out of left field.

This series has a little bit of everything for everyone....more

Destiny is a wonderful read. Ms. DeLuca does a wonderful job describing each character and their surroundings. There were times where it was so real that I honestly felt like I was there. The characters were great. They all had their own special purpose in the book and they came together beautifully.

Gabriella’s (Gabby) mother was murdered when she was just a little girl. Gabby knows that she is special, but is in denial and doesn’t want to realize who she really is. Darron, a witch and a close f...more

The story is about Gabriella. It is a story of love, friendship, religion, triumph, believing, and good versus evil. Always remember kids, good always wins over evil.

Gabriella is in high school, she wants to be like everyone else but she isn't. She is very different. Her mother was murdered when she was a little girl and she lives with her alcoholic father. Gabby, as everyone calls her is special, but doesn't realize the full extent of her abilities.

Gabby is your everyday average teen, trying to fight her way through high school. Normal in just about every way. She doesn’t quite fit in (who does by the way?). She has a crush on the cute guy. The mean girl is bullying her, and she comes out of a not so perfect home. When all of a sudden her world comes crashing down. Now she finds out she is a witch, and is supposed to take down the big bad guy. Darron on the other hand is anything but normal. He seems to be wise beyond his years. Cold and d...more

An exciting, magical and vividly written YA paranormal romance that many fans of the genre will sure enjoy!

Gabrielle lost her mother many years ago and though unaware, her memories right along with her. These memories are of very great importance to her wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of many others around her because right along with her memories, are her powers which also remain hidden deep and she requires them both if she is to survive. Now she just needs to learn and accept her true call...more

This is a fantastic book. From the very first chapter you are sucked into right into the lives of the characters. Throughout the story you learn more and more about the characters and begin to feel as if you know them personally. There are times you may wish you could reach right in the pages and give them a bit of smack on the head and other times you wish you could give them a great big hug. The author does a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life so that you really care what happens...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Witches and magick aren't really my cup of tea in YA novels these days, but this novel sure kept me interested! The mythology behind the story was so unique and it was a little refreshing after all the vampires and werewolves prancing around (not that I don't love them too hahah).

The characters in this story were so rich! The Spanish/Hispanic names were all really interesting and pretty cool. My favorite character was probably Darron because he's so powerful, yet...more

Jealousy, murder, love and magick made Destiny a really good read.
I seriously got into this book. Out of the few books I've read that contained witchcraft, I haven't had the pleasure of reading one with Wicca in it. Having known people who study Wicca and reading about it made this story so much more enjoyable for me. Laura took such care with detail with the spells she used and she set the scenes up to allow the reader to experience the powers at work (so to speak). My only complaint is that I...more

This book is book 1 in a 2 book series. I read this book for Promotional Book Tours.

I personally love to read books on paranomal with witches and Wiccan. This book was a quick read and the story flowed beautifully.

Gabriella has blocked out the memories of being a witch when her mother died. While she is coming to terms with her true identity she gives into the love of a friend. Being a witch is more than just spells and power. It's also about love and finding who your true friends are.

Not my cup of tea. I'm not fond of the writing style; I think it's ineffective. Too much telling, not enough showing:
She drove a little recklessly down the icy roads, skidding more than once as she took the turns at twice the legal speed limit. The whole time, she was rambling on about one thing after another. Darron could barely keep up. She was starting to give him a headache. His stomach was hurting again too.

As for the story, it reminds me too much of the movie The Craft. It's more than just...more

I have written this review like, 3 times already. First one on my phone, then it broke down and I wrote it once again… And my phone broke for the second time. Hi, I’m the lucky one. So here’s the third review – that’s why it took me so long.

I haven’t fangirled over a book so much since I read Harry Potter for the first time. Writing a review for this one is just hard as there WASN’T A SINGLE T...more

I really wanted to like this book, but unfortunately I had some problems with it. Maybe in some ways, the plot was predictable so there was no element of surprise for me during the whole book. Or maybe the characters Gabriella and Darron felt too young for me to connect with and maybe that is why I had a hard time getting into the story. They were solid characters, but I didn’t feel for them as much I do with other characters. Whatever the reason, I wasn’t too captivated by the world that DeLuca...more

I was unable to put this book down. It was a unusual story that kept my mind moving. i had to find out what was to happen. The book cover is beautiful. The story is about a girl who discovers she is a witch. She has many secrets to find out about herself and falls in love in the process. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a great story with the magic involved, love and suspense.

This book is truly amazing! I bought it last night and I already finished it. I stayed up all night! Its the story of a witch struggling to come to terms with her magic, but its also a story of friendship and love. Its a story of overcoming stereotypes and coming to terms with who you are, whether that's a witch or a young gay teen. I can't wait for the sequel!

For a young adult (read 12-15 year olds) book, this one is not half bad. It is the author's 1st book to the best of my knowledge too, so that should be taken into consideration. I was able to finish it and it kept my attention well enough that I want to read the next book in the series. It was a bit generic in its description of things and feelings but I enjoyed the ending immensely and the earth magic touched a chord in my heart as well. I only recommend this book to adult readers IF you are st...more

This is such a great book! I am so glad I found it. There are not many books out there that cast witches in a good light, but this one does. I love how the author weaved in real elements of wicca in with the fantasy. Very well done and definitely worth the $.99 I paid for it!

This was a great Stroy line. Its just my kind of book/movie I enjoy. The kind of book you just can't put down because you need to know what is going to happen next. And its so relatable almost as if you are part of the characters your reading for.

The story of Gabriella and Darron was great! I liked the story the author told. It kept me wanting to read further and further to see what was going to happen to them. Good book for the younger generation! Way to go Laura DeLuca! Excellent book!

Destiny was a very pleasant read. I enjoyed the characters of Gabriella and Darron though I feel they were written a bit young for me to actually connect with them. I don't have a whole lot to say about this one...I think that this book did seem to be geared toward a younger YA audience and perhaps because of that it was enjoyable but not exactly my cup of tea. I think that it could do with a bit of polishing but the story was very promising. It doesn't take itself too seriously and for that rea...more

Laura "Luna" DeLuca lives at the beautiful Jersey shore with her husband and three children. She has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. Old high school friends would tell you she was always scratching in her notebook instead of paying attention in class and the children she used to babysit for always loved to hear her scary stories at bedtime. In addition to writing fiction, Lau...more
