The book that made me fall in love with Comics, it has it all Superman,DeadMan,Batman,Robin, and even the Titans. And what really is important, it's a character I and most people can relate to as they have went through the same delima Grayson does, establishing his independence and that certainly isn't easy when you've been raised by one of the world's premier superheroes.
But he rises to the challenge, and it's no secret I personally enjoy Dick Grayson more then Bruce Wayne. And it's because he...more

In which Dick Grayson discovers a follow up act to his gig as Gotham's Boy Wonder.
This collection reads nicely as a trade pb. There's a strong arc in Dick Grayson's choice of his new path, and it ties in well with existing continuity and character relationships. Fortunately for me, this is light on Teen Titans stuff, which is just as well, because my childhood exposure to Batman mythos was through the animated series more than the comics, and my knowledge of that bit of the DC University is pre...more

Good read. Batman was like, "Dick, you're FIRED!"
Robin, was like,"Looks like you're the dick!" Ok he didn't say that, but he sure as hell was thinking it behind one of his thought clouds.
They could have made his nightwing costume a little less Liberace and a little more "I'm gonna kick your ass."
This added a little realism to the comic world bc some comic characters are madd busy. Dick Grayson at the time was full time in three comic books... Batman, Robin, and Teen Titans. That's madd stress...more

Chuck Dixon and Scott McDaniel were master storytellers! The Jagger and Richards of comics! I can honestly say I've enjoyed each issue of their run! (I'm waiting for a Richard Dragon Omnibus!) As a horror nut, I appreciated the Deadman appearance! Chuck Dixon has been one of my favorite writers since I was a Kid! His characterization is great here, especially between Nightwing and Jason Todd Robin. I really love Scott McDaniel's linework! Great story all around!
It was ok, nothing to write home about but decent. I liked that he went back to his roots to start over as well as talk with clark kent on deciding his future(it gives a bit of depth to superman, something he needs a lot these days) I also enjoyed the team up with Jason Todd(although he really irratated me, no wonder they killed him off). The best bit was batgirl, yes you heard that right. The moment she steps in she steals the spotlight. Without a doubt she's the best thing in this book. It als...more
Anyway, this was a nice (origin?) story about the emergence of Grayson as Nightwing. It always kind of kills me to read it though, since Grayso was my favorite Robin, though he's also great as Nightwing. It's sad to see the original duo break up.
The artwork was a little cray for my eyes. Nightwing moves like an acrobat, but its hard for me to follow at times.

A fun romp as Robin becomes Nightwing as he passes the torch to Jason Todd. I have to say given who Jason Todd turns out to be I’m far more interested in his storyline than the one in this book, although Dick Grayson is a legendary character time passing has rendered this story somewhat flat.

Short and simple, good reading and covers the events from Dick Grayson quitting being Robin, until he finally defines who "Nightwing" is gonna be.

Slow pace, should give time for character development. Still not that impressing. 3 stars

A great fun read about Dick Graysons transition from Robin to Nightwing.

Charles "Chuck" Dixon is an American comic book writer, perhaps best-known for long runs on Batman titles in the 1990s.
His earliest comics work was writing Evangeline first for Comico Comics in 1984 (then later for First Comics, who published the on-going series), on which he worked with his then-wife, the artist Judith Hunt. His big break came one year later, when editor Larry Hama hired him to w...more
