Para arwah merusak hidupku. Aku menyalahkan ibuku.

Kat hanya ingin hidup normal seperti anak kelas tujuh lainnya.

So I’m on a plane ride from Seattle to New York and wouldn’t you know it but I don’t bring enough books to read. Under normal circumstances I have a problem with overstocking my purse with reading material. This time the opposite is true. So I pull out anything I happen to have on hand, and most of it is simply terrible. I’m alternating between bad crazy books and bad depressing books in an effort to simply make the time go faster when I remember that a literary agent I know, who happens to be t ...more

Seventh grade is hard enough, but when you're already struggling to find your niche in the popular crowd, it certainly doesn't for the cool kids to find out that your mom is a Medium. But the reality for Kat is that nothing escapes the eyes of Shoshanna, Brooklyn and their omnipresent "Satellite Girls," so she's just about ready to exile herself into the seventh circle of social ineptitude. But then she makes friends with the new "Cello Girl," Jac, so-cal ...more

There have been a batch of these books lately. You know--girl discovers her incredible psychic powers and begins solving mysteries. Usually there's a kooky but wise relative with similar powers, or a quirky shop that she works in, and usually a cute boy to fall in love with.

Luckily, Elizabeth Cody Kimmel is a deft writer and her book stands on its own merits. Her characters are younger than usual--they're in 7th grade, so the boy angle isn't in play--at least not in this first volume. There are

I remember reading this book in the seventh-eighth grade. I forgot the title of the book and then weeks later, I was scrolling through the books that I might've enjoyed. I saw this book and remembered 'hey, that's the book that I remembered when I was in middle school.' Unfortunately, the rest of the books weren't in my classroom library.

Anyway, this book was written for middle schoolers, and I happen to be a eighteen year old.

I happen to understand living in haunted houses. I'm not a medium, so

Ga usah diceritainlah gimana. Ntar OOR-out of review. *ngasal*

Pekerjaan

Dead people are ruining Kat's life.

Seventh grade is hard enough, but when your mom is a medium and calls up spirits that then invade the house, inviting people over and trying to make friends is not easy.

Things get worse when Kat herself starts to see spirits. She doesn't want to be a medium and isn't sure she's cut out for communicating with the dead. Plus, Kat's afraid that her family's dark secret will jeopardize her newfo

In middle school you want to fit in, you know, blend in with the crowd. Fitting in was anything but easy for Kat. Her mother was a medium and the kids at school teased her about it to no end. Before long, Kat herself realized that she too had the gift for speaking with spirits. Her only real friend was Jac, another school misfit who lost her ability to play the cello.

I really liked Kat as a main character. She was just a normal girl who happened to be able to speak with spirits. Since Kat
Sayangnya, gadis paling populer di sekol ...more
This book is about a preteen named Katherine who has just discovered that she can see ghosts like her mother! After being haunted by a ghosts named Suzanne Bennis Katherine(Kat for short)and her best friend Jaquilene it's time to lead this ghost to the light and get it to crossover, but they soon realize that this ghost isn't who she appears to be.......

My opinion is to stay on a subject instead of changing them, because there were tons of parts where i was lost and im sure other people are having
Perfect ending!!! Makes me want to read the second book.

Elizabeth Cody Kimmel's novel, Suddenly Supernatural, is set in a school library where the main character, Kat, sees a spirit and must find out what the spirit wants in order to set it free. Kat is not just an ordinary teen. Her mom is a medium ( a person who sees spirits and communicates with them) and ever since Kat turned thirteen, she started seeing spirits two. One day while she was in the library with her new friend, Jac, some strange things kept happening like the same book kept falling o ...more
I started this one at about 11:00 p.m. and finished it up in the wee hours of the morning. Why? I didn't want to put it down. I'm getting too old to do that, but I really liked this story. More later when I'm not so sleep deprived!

I'd recommend this one to any students who like ghost stories, paranormal twists, or mysteries with both of the other elements. Bonus? There's a sequel!
This is the first book in the Suddenly Supernatural series by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel. Our oldest enjoys stories about ghosts and I thought she could relate to the main character, Kat. The story is certainly a bit lighter than some of the other books she's been reading lately.

We listened to the story narrated by Allyson Ryan on audio CD. It was great to take a break from reading aloud and listen to someone else read the story to us.

The story is engaging and dramatic, but some of the teen girl dra
What a great book for kids who are into ghosts and paranormal reads!! This is also a terrific book for helping kids who are a little different accept themselves! Because “In reality there is no normal. Normal is something people have agreed to invent so we have something to compare ourselves to. Normal should be the least of your worries.”, what a great lesson to teach kids!!

The whole book is from Kat's POV, she has a slightly quirky outlook for a thirteen year old. I really enjoyed her narrativ

I have been going through a phase lately of reading a great deal of juvenile fiction. I don't know what got me started into this realm other than my niece introducing me to The Magic Tree House Series by Mary Pope Osborne in June. I have been finding many books in the juvenile fiction section at the local libraries in my county and the county in which my boyfriend works that look so good I just can't keep myself from reading them. I really have been enjoying this trip I have been taking into juv ...more
I love this book. It is amazing. I am reading “suddenly supernatural”. By Elizabeth kimmel.. It’s a mystery book. If I could be a charter it would be Kat because of her gift she has which is … she can see dead people. Kat can see dead people because her mom is a Medium and the gift is past down to Kat. Kat also doesn’t want it .Kat also hasn’t told her Mom that she has a gift. My favorite charter is jac because she plays the cello like me and she is also nice and very helpful to Kat with her gi ...more
School Spirit is the first book in the Suddenly Supernatural series. In this book we meet Kat whose Mom is super cool, but a bit of an embarrassment to Kat. I know you're thinking my life would be sooo much better if my Mom was cool. But is your Mom a medium who has seances with weird noises coming out of the room and drops in temperature that make you shiver when you have the most popular girl from school over. And did you suddenly start seeing people who say haven't eaten a meal in awhile and ...more

Jujur, ceritanya bener2 fresh buat aku.. Dibeberapa bagian cerita, aku teringat dengan Mediator Series nya Meg Cabot, karna kedua buku ini kurang lebih sejenis, meski ga 100% sama, tap
Kimmel, Elizabeth Cody. 2008. Suddenly Supernatural: School Spirit.

"The undead are ruining my life. I blame my mother. My mother is a medium. And I don't mean the kind that fits in between small and large."

What's worse than being an uncool kid in middle school? How about being an uncool kid that sees dead people? Kat, soon after her last birthday (12? 13?), has just realized that she shares her mother's gift, her ability to see, to communicate, to help with spirits or ghosts. While Kat loves he

Kat thought she was a normal teenager until she started seeing them. Yes, like that kid in the movie, Kat sees dead people. She is a medium. It began soon after she turned thirteen. Her mother also is a medium, practicing out of their home. At school, those who know about her mother taunt Kat relentlessly. At the head of this group is Brooklyn, one of the queen
It's ghost whisperer for kids! I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next one. Not as meaty as Cabot's Mediator series, but it's perfect for the age group.

Here's what I'll say in my booktalk:

What would you do if you suddenly started seeing people that aren't really there? Would you think you were going crazy? Seeing things? You wouldn't if you were Kat--you'd know that you'd inherited the gift of seeing ghosts. With a mother for a medium, Kat knows what's in store for her and she
Super cute book, easy read -- finished in a couple hours, fun characters, clean, fun plot. My rating is reflective of this not being my genre and I probably won't read the remainder of the series. That said, I am always looking for books that are age appropriate for middle school/junior high kiddos that don't grow them up too quickly, but are engaging. This would be a series I would recommend.

What an absolutely charming book!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to read the whole series. Its about a junior high school student, who discovers she is a medium, she is not a very popular kid in school, however she meets a friend and of course they become best friends. Its wonderful to watch their friendship grow. (I had a two very close friends, one in the first half of junior high school and then the other friend was the end of junior high into adulthood and we are still friends!) A best friend is SO i ...more

Suddenly Supernatural.

I love the concept of the story. I felt the beginning was a bit slow, but it started to pick up once she started trying to actively solve the mystery. I had a difficult time with the modern details, like names of celebrities and TV shows. It drew me out of the story. I much prefer fictionalized details. It helps to keep me in the story longer.
