Writing Mysteries, Movies, Monster Stories, and More by Nancy Bentley and Donna Guthrie tries to cover the writing life, short and long fiction, genres, and even publication all in a mere eighty-five pages. When reading it, I felt tempted to think that perhaps short and skimpy books are best for young readers. Then I remembered that most of the writing guides that I devoured during my childhood were intended for adults. If one is passionate about a topic, doesn’t one crave that in-depth coverage ...more
