Pourtant, si ...more

I'm on a winning streak with these Lisa Kleypas books--5 Wallflowers books and now 2 Hathaways--and all were FABULOUS! I know I'm pretty easy to please, but I am loving every word of these two series!

There's oodles of great reviews for this book, so I'll just give some of my thoughts...

OMG, the 'gypsy' Kev Merripen has got to be the all-time most stubborn hero in all of Romanceland! His I'm-not-good-enough-for-you and I-don't-deserve-you attitude drove me bonkers so many times in this book! I th

Ms. Kleypas has managed to impress me yet again. She writes some of the most beautiful, most romantic love stories I've ever read. And this one is up there on my list of premier Lisa Kleypas novels. Seduce Me at Sunrise has one of those love affairs that is so intense and enduring, how could I possibly not love it? Kev Merripen fell in love with Win Hathaway even before he saw her. The Hathaways took him in when he was found badly injured and left for dead, despite him being a Gypsy. They nursed ...more

Forever together and yet always apart.....

WOW, just WOW! I absolutely loved this! Seduce Me At Sunrise is a beautiful, evocative, sensual, moving, and lush romance of forbidden love, powerful yearning, and long-denied desire between two star-crossed souls. Although dark, cold, hardened, mysterious gypsy Kev Merripen and sweet, fair, innocent, well-bred Winnifred Hathaway might appear to be opposites, they've shared an intrinsic bond and deep love for each other sinc

The more Lisa Kleypas novels I read, the more I really wish for a time machine. But only if I was able choose which heroes I could visit. Kev would be first on my list… well, in the top 10, anyway. What a wonderful, amazing, incredibly tortured soul he possessed. I really found no fault in him at all because all of his actions and reactions were based in the reality of the child he was and the man he became. Everything he did, no matter the emotional or physical pain it caused him was truly was

Generally, I'm not a fan of tortured heroes. Sure, I love my rakes and my deep, dark, brooding souls, but enough already, I hated Wuthering Heights the first time around, I don't want another Heathcliff in my reading repertoire. Heathcliff and Cathy can go die (har har har). This entire book is not a happy one, but it is so poignant and beautifully written that I have never regretted reading it or rereading it (for the 5th time).

Never let it be said that there is no well-done humor in Regency ro
In the first book, i liked the Hathaways!!!
In the second book i can finally say that i adore them!!!

This different and eccentric bounce manage to find the way to my heart and i can assure you that i'm almost obsessed with every single one of them...

First of all, i like the way everyone of them feels about all the other members of the family.
They love each other and they care for each other.
They don't judje anybody and they don't care for other's opinion about them...
And i like that they don't

I still have a sappy smile on my face! "Seduce Me at Sunrise" is one of the best historical romances I've read this year starring one of the most tortured heroes. This 2nd book in Lisa Kleypas' 'Hathaways' series brings us the story of the wild Rom boy, Kev Merripen, and his journey to love with Winnifred Hathaway.

Winnifred has loved Kev since the day he came into her home when she was still a young child. Her understanding and care of the feral boy hasn't made living with this love any easier,

It has been years since I have read a Lisa Kleypas novel. I admittedly get stuck on a certain type of genre at times, and honestly stopped reading historical novels for a while. When I had the opportunity to read Seduce Me at Sunrise I jumped at the chance. Knowing that I have loved Lisa’s books in the past, I wondered if the magic was still there. It is. I had forgotten the lyrical way she tells a story. I forgot her addictive storylines and h

Hurray, another great romance :) Merripen was the mysterious man of the bunch so I was so excited to get to read his back-story. It wasn't as rocky since I knew all of the characters this time around, but everything mentioned in book one that was of importance to Win and Merripen's relationship is mentioned in this book. It leads me to believe that this series doesn't
Book 2 in the Hathaways is better than book 1 but not great like some of her other series. The writing is very good as usual, she has an incredible talent for bringing words to life without being flowery or “over-writing” a scene especially when it comes to describing the setting, and the steam is steamy but you have to wait a while to get to it and the getting there gets frustrating (not in a good way either). After reading all of Lisa Kleypas’ popular “Wallflower” series and reading her first book in the “Hathaway” series, “Mine Till Midnight,” I was definitely going to try my luck in reading the second book in the “Hathaway” series, “Seduce Me at Sunrise.” This second installment in the fantastic “Hathaway” is just as brilliant as the first book as it is full of forbidden secrets, an undying love and hot sizzling romance that will have you flipping over with anticipation!

The second book in the Hathaways series was incredibly moving and somewhat somber. It was also much more angsty than LK's usual fare, and for that reason among many others, I loved it. It has earned a place on my forever favourites shelf.

Here, we get Merripen's( Kev ) and Winn's story. Having grown up with the Hathaways, Kev and Winn's enduring and complicated love was long overdue. Having Cam Rohan enter the fold and marry into her family, Winn decides she needs to improve her health i

This book was so much better than the first one in the series. I mean, I loved Cam, but there was something big missing between the 2 characters in the first book. Well this was not the case in the second book. I loved it.

Kev was such a great hero to read about. His problems just got me cautivated through the whole story, I couldn't stop reading because I wanted him to get through all and get better. The whole time I felt that he deserved so much better.

It's official. From now on I belong to the fan club of Lisa Kleypas! What a great read! I couldn't put it down! I had a ton work to do and still I couldn't stop reading!

I liked Win a lot. Everyone thinks that she's a delicate and fragile young woman but this is far from the truth. She's strong, stubborn and ready to live her life as she wants. She loves Kev since she was a girl and she is determined to fight for him.

Kev is an amazing man. He had a rough start in life but when he started living w

That's right, I'm always composed and shy and silent; I'm an observer, more than a talker, and I tend to finish a thing, before exalting or destroy it completely, but these books, well, I'm putting caution aside and telling you that they are the best!

Lisa Kleypas is my new hero, she has no idea how much joy and excitement her series has brought me.

(This is a review of the audiobook.) This was a “re-read via audio” for me. I can’t believe how much I had forgotten about Kev and Win’s love story. I have always enjoyed the appearance of these two in the other books in the Hathaways series more than in their own volume. However, on listening to the elegant Rosalyn Landor narrator this one, it is kicked up a star. She is so versatile on the voices and the infection of tones and nuances for the many dramas t
Unfortunately, Seduce Me at Sunrise did not quite charm me the way Mine Till Midnight, the first novel in this delightful historical romance series, did. While both novels feature the unconventional Hathaways, strong family ties, and an impeccable grasp of each character personality on part of Kleypas herself, giving each character an extremely distinct and three-dimensional voice, I found Seduce Me at Sunrise to be a little lacking. Ultimately, it all boils down to the fact that I didn't quite ...more

LOVED... LIVED... ADORED. Made it to my favorites and that's quite an accomplishment. And yet.. I can't properly review this book. There is just no way that I could accurately verbalize all the feelings I had while reading this amazing, angst-ridden, breathlessly romantic, beautifully laid out tale of two soul mates finally coming together. I mean, really... where to even start?

I think I'm one of the few people who like Mine Till Midnight better than this book! Not that I thought this book was bad or anything. Far from it. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but for whatever reason, I just like the first book in this series better.

I'll skip over doing a more in depth summary since plenty of other people have done that...

The storyline/romance for Seduce Me At Sunrise was set up in the previous book...a sort of forbidden love between Win and Merripen. I was definitely anxious to r

Though I started this book first being the second in the series, I didn't feel confused at all. The book gave a good back history of the first novel to counteract that.

I will not go into a plot summary simply because there are oodles of those on here already. I will simply state my view.

A wonderful story. Win and Merripen were a great couple, and their story was fun and steamy in that traditional Kleypas style. This book is a big improvement from the previous book (Mine Till Midnight) which I did not like. Win could easily be one of my favorite Kleypas heroines as she was likable, smart, and best of all was willing to take risks without ever pulling a single TSTL moment. The rest of the Hathaways came across as more likable too, even the brother Leo who I loathed in the first b ...more

I'm only rounding up because I looove Merripen and the lower status man/higher status woman trope. I even have a special shelf for these type of HR titles.

Unlike Hathaway eldest sister Amelia, featured in the the first installment and now married to the hot half-Gypsy Cam Rohan, Winnifred and her Gypsy Merripen have chemistry--hot hot hot.

I love Merripen!!!
I loved this even more than the previous book, probably because I didn't find anything to annoy or distract me from their love story this time. It also helped that it was much angstier and intense, with a taciturn, brooding hero, bith things I love in a romance. And Beatrix is so funny! I can't wait to read her story too:)

^These are my feels about this book.

So much angst, so much joy, so much love, so much sexiness in one book.

I’ll try to get it together for the purpose of this review.

Seduce me at Sunrise is the sequel to Mine till Midnight and it’s even better than the first. After the catastrophes of the last book, The Hathaways have finally gotten it together. Well, at least on the surface. Inside they are just as insane as always. But would we want them any other way?

3.75/4 stars - yes, it matters.

After being sorely disappointed by Mine Till Midnight, I didn't have high hopes for Seduce Me at Sunrise. But this is one of the rare cases in HR where the second book actually manages to be better than its preprocessor.

Win and Kev have been in love since they were children, but Kev feels he doesn't deserve her because of his rough past. Pretty clichéd, right? I thought so too, for about one chapter. But surprisingly, that's about all the pages it took for me to f

“I love you, he thought, looking at Win. I love every part of you, every thought and word...the entire complex, fascinating bundle of all the things you are. I want you with ten different kinds of need at once. I love all the seasons of you, the way you are now, the thought of how much more beautiful you'll be in the decades to come. I love you for being the answer to every question my heart could ask.” 283 likes
