Grabbed this as I walked past a display at the library; not sure why, to be honest, as I've only ever watched one Oscars ceremony in my life and it was just last year. It was somehow less interesting than I thought it'd be, but maybe I was just turned off by being unable to lift the book off the table while I was reading it. Damn book weighs more than my coffee table.
This book was revised while I was working at Abbeville, and was a monumental achievement because it required so many permissions for all the photos. I think the editor, Owen, was ripping his hair out most of the time he was dealing with it, and since he left the firm I doubt anyone will ever be able to mastermind another edition. It is great fun to skim through annually, and think about my small part in getting it into bookstores and onto coffee tables.
