It’s the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, and FDNY firefighter Griff Muir is spending it at the Stone Bone, a popular bar and hangout spot for the city’s finest. With him is his best friend and almost brother, Dante Anastagio, who much to Griff’s regret is a ladies’ man. It’s not that Griff casts any kind of moral judgment on his friend, not at all, it's just that... well, he’s in love with Dante and has been for a long time. But, it's not like Gr More...

^^GETTING HEAD HAS NEVER BEEN THIS HOT!^^
More of my reviews and thoughts on my blog PANTS OFF REVIEWS
Hot Head is critically acclaimed (by me), this book was the Kool-Aid, and by Kool-Aid, I mean the shit. I loved every fecking minute of it. It’s rough, raw and ready (wait a sec is that, not some other book). Well those words describe this book perfectly; stuffs on fire, feelings are blazing hot. The men like it rough, and they are always ready. Forget More...

From the ashes of 911 Damon Suede has written a novel that’s raw, dialogue that’s fresh, a plot that grips you and makes your stomach ache, prose that entices, and characters that are so incredibly complex, flawed and over the top you will have no doubt who wrote Hot Head because the author’s fingerprints are all over every page. This was a very strange reading experience for me.
See Laddie trying to keep an open mind: Things were not as strange this time around but I did have to fight against preconceived notions from my first read. I jumped into the fray Sylvester Stallone style with guns blazing and grenades strapped to my belt.
The beginning of the book almost did me in. It felt like pages and pages of inner dialogue. What I disliked abou More...

I don’t even know where to start really. This book surprised the hell out of me! I expected a hot read, which it was—but so much more as well. This story, characters and writing style touched my heart right from the get go.
What I loved: full body blushes, kilts, midnight eyes, pirate smiles, the whole Anastagio family, and the huge heart! OH--Did I mention the hot sex and smoldering chemistry? Yeah, loved that too! Oooolala…
I loved both Griff and Dante! But it wa More...

Well Hell!! The last third of this book came out of nowhere, and knocked me the hell out! This is a book to read to the last page, because you get what you work for in the end. Oh yes you do!!
Now, there were quite a few things that bothered me about this book. And it took a second try to actually finish it. But if I'm man enough to bitch about what I didn't like, I'm man enough to say this was a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be.

Sweet, mind-blowing PERFECTION!
Oh boy...where to start? So this is my first group read and let me tell you I was so not prepared for how awesome this book was. I have never read anything from this author but he is on my auto-buy list for sure. He has written two beautifully strong and endearing characters that will definitely stick with me for a long time. I have no clue what kind of book Damon Suede was trying to write.
I had an urge to throw my iPad against the wall while reading the first two chapters. A definite first for me. Just hated it, but then the pacing and the storytelling suddenly shifted, and I actually enjoyed the book for a while, until it shifted again, and then again, and again.

I will grudgingly agree with Sims' grudging admission, I liked it more than I thought I would. There were many things I could have done without, the sound effects became distracting. I almost expected something like: The phone rang- ring, ring. Being in Griff's head was exhausting at times, talk about dramatic. It was longer than necessary and I threw out a "Yeah, right" out there more than once.
But I really liked it. Once I simply let go, it couldn't be helped. The sweet was More...

A stayed-up-til-5AM read, and I loved it.
This book was just a wonderful and page-turning story that combined unrequited love with friends-to-lovers into a unique and explosive package. It's told entirely from the angsty goodness POV of NYFD fireman Griffin Muir. Griff is an incredibly sympathetic character who was a first responder for the September 11th attacks and who, since panicking over the thought of losing his best friend, Dante, on that day, has realized he is in love with Dan More...

I really loved this book...being my first m/m book I was very pleasantly surprised and I was very glad not to have to endure the unaccepting aspect. I was really dreading that part of the story--I thought for sure we would have to deal with haters in the fire department and haters in the Italian community and when we didn't, I was so relieved! I didn't feel as though I was cheated out of any drama by not having that be a part of the story. I feel like the point regarding discrimination was made

I loved this book, there was times I teared up, and times I just laughed and laughed. So many heartfelt moments that just stole my breath (bar scene at end). Dante and Griff are such realistic and likable guys that you could't help by fall in love with them too. Dante's parents are wonderful, aceppting down to earth people. The kind we all wish we had grown up with!
I hope the next book is Tommy's cause that poor man needs his HEA too.

What a powerful story! I fell in love with Dante because Griff loves him in such a beautiful, almost tender way, without expecting anything in return. Everything for his "brother", who somewhere along the way became the love of his life. Not that he's not a looker, Dante. With his raven black curls and his midnight black eyes and his olive skin and his muscled body. Same goes for Griff by the way. The kind-hearted red-haired giant. How can you not love the guy?

I bought this book without ever reading the blurb. I picked it because I liked the cover, and people were raving about it. I put off reading it because based on the cover I thought it was m/m/m and I was never in the mood for one of those, it's not. Now I feel silly that I didn't read it sooner. Thank goodness it just so happened to be on the list for my reading category this week. If you love NY you can safely read this book as well. I'll explain all this in the rest of the review.

I hate doing reviews, I really suck at it! Lots of imagery and ideas stuffed into one book. Yes, the premise of the book isn't unique but why does it have to be to work and be enjoyable? I loved how descriptive the book was, I have never been to New York or the surrounding area but quite often I could almost see it while reading. Now there were lots of ... issues that are used in the story, gay-bashing and alcoholism to name two, I really thought that was an effective tool that added realism

So this was powerful, an engrossing read with very likeable characters. I loved big, softhearted bear Griff - although he was so dense at times I wanted to smack him over the head and shout at him, Brains, much? And of course spitfire-loose cannon-Dante was adorable and über-sexy. Actually they both were acting - and especially not-talking - as if they were a little... slow. not dumb, mind you, just not that accustomed to talking, rather than acting. Which fits their characters. And se More...

I'm surprised how much I liked this story. To tell the truth, I wasn't expecting much. Probably because I thought it would be just about sex since the characters are filming porn. But I was wrong, it was much more.
Griff and Dante are firemen and best friends, been that for years. Dante's family accepted Griff as their own when his mother died, because his dad worked too much. So those two have spent a lot of time together, shared chicks, have seen each other naked, got in trouble tog More...

Up front, this is one of the best M/M romance I have read lately, even more surprisingly since this a debut from Damon Suede. The author is not new to the M/M crowd and so maybe he socked up a lot of do and don’t about this genre, and he wonderfully displayed them in this novel.
The story is simple but hot as hell, the sex is so good I probably for the first time in a long, long period, read it all instead of “mentally” skimming it (yes, I do that, when the sex is too much, I tend to More...

I did enjoy this. Other reviews do a very nice job of summing this story up, both in its pluses and minuses, so I won't attempt to do that here. Suffice to say that while I do recognize some (not all) of the minuses, the pluses far overrode them for me.
I did very much enjoy the men. They became very real to me, all of them, and I found myself very much wanting them to get their HEA. I come from a background of blue-collar guys, both family and growing up, and dang, but these men were More...

I’m not sure why I liked this book so much. Honestly. Actually, thats a lie. Damon Suede created engaging characters and the question of HOW were these two strapping, gorgeous men going to find love with each other? He kept me guessing all the way up through about 80% on my kindle.
It was a 3.5 star book with some awesome characters. But they were just a tad unbelievable, and I had a hard time with Griff just doing anything *and I do mean, anything* for Dante. (example I embellished) More...

Before “Hot Head” by Damon Suede was published, there was a lot of buzz in virtual space. This was a “first” book by a man who describes himself as growing “up out-n-proud deep in the anus of right-wing America, and escaped as soon as it was legal. He says he has lived all over: Houston, New York, London, Prague, with a few long stretches in New Orleans and Vienna. Along the way, he’s earned his crust as a model, a messenger, a promoter, a programmer, a sculptor, a singer, a stripper, a bookkeep

If you’re looking for an m/m romance that will absolutely hook you, "Hot Head" is a book that needs to be on your reading list. It combines excellent writing, an emotional story of love and dedicated friendship, and a few sex scenes that will probably make you dizzy (because that’s what happens when you forget to breathe). It touched me, entertained me, and impressed me, and I will be looking forward to whatever Mr. Suede has to offer us next.

I loved this book and thought it was a great story about friendship and a twist on the typical OFY or friends to lovers plot. First off, I could really feel the friendship between Griffin and Dante. They seemed like real people and I could really tell how close their bond is, even without the romantic end of things. In so many books with this trope we are told the couple are best friends, but you don't really feel it. Here it is completely clear how close and committed these guys are to each ot

Almost, but not quite 4 stars
I waited a long time (in terms of this genre) to read this book. I always resist reading "the next big thing". The reason, at least partly, is peer pressure to read it and like it (or not) and, because I want to read the book when I choose to and actually enjoy it, I usually give such books a wide berth. Time certainly gives me a better perspective.
