Bay Area Blues is exactly what the title says: a book of photographs taken mostly in clubs (primarily in Oakland) by a French photographer, Michelle Vignes, with introductory comments by Lee Hildebrand. The northern California blues scene has been somewhat overlooked in blues histories and even more overlooked when photographs come into consideration. Bay Area Blues helps to rectify that situation.
