Book Reveiw: Carla and Leo's World of Dance by Agatha Relota/Illustrations by Thierry Perez

It is rare to find a book about ballroom dancing for children, but that is exactly what Carla and Leo's World of Dance delivers. First off I want to say YAY! and thank you to Goodreads for this book that I won in the giveaway.

Carla and Leo end up at Miss Paulina's Dance School and learn how to ballroom dance. Not only does Miss Paulina teach them the dance, she teaches about the history of the dance and where it's from. This book does a great job of teaching geography, which is a school subject that is sorely lacking in our school systems.

I'm excited that I'll be able to share this book with my class.

This book is geared for Tweens interested in dance. It teaches about each type of dance - waltz, foxtrot, salsa, etc in a fun & accessible way. Good book go kids who like to dance or are thinking of taking lessons. Jessica Alba wrote a brief intro to the book so that I'm sure would also appeal to the kids. It's a cute book with fun illustrations.

I won this book in one of the goodread's giveaway contest but that hasn't changed my above review.

The pictures are good, but the story...well....and the descriptions of dance are plain confusing!
