This remarkable book uncovers--for the first time--the mystery of life in the spirit world after death on earth. Dr. Michael Newton, a hypnotherapist in private practice, has developed his own hypnosis technique to reach his subjects' hidden memories of the hereafter. The resulting narrative acts as a progressive "travel log" of the accounts of twenty-nine people who were ...more

This is basically from my personal experience being a soul healer that i am!

There is always a belief that the energies our soul carry manifests in real life, physical world. Our body even being external reacts to the energies within, the energies arising from the beliefs the soul carry. from my personal example, there are times when my leg starts paining and this is due to resistance in my energy to release a certain past block which translates to pain. At the other end, a soul could carry a belief of a certain part related to their body. Again to my personal experience, i have massive throat issues which is related to my beliefs around my voice which currently i am working on. I don't know how much this has helped you but i would just like to say our body also give us messages about things within us.(less)

I read this whole book in one sitting it was so interesting. A past life regression hypnotist focused his practice on the space between lives and interviews his patients on what that time is like, how we choose our lives, and how we interact with the souls who accompany us on our journeys. It's not hokey at all or new agey...there's no mention of religion or dogma, it's just accounts of conversations and the consistencies that the author has found between individual accounts. It's really a great book!!
Bring so much controversials yet intriguingly to read. It's hard for me to put down the book, not before I've finished it.

If you believe in the spirit world, this book is for you in that it will fill in many gaps you might have regarding this subject. If you are new to the subject, then this book is also for you, because after reading you will never look back, wanting to explore more,..

Have you ever wondered why we are here? What is our purpose? Who are we supposed to b

I can sum this up in one word: interesting. A look behind the curtain of death. . . and rebirth. We’ve all heard the stories about near death experiences (NDE) where the spirit hovers above the body of the deceased and then drifts through a tunnel toward a bright light where they see relatives who preceded them in death. Typically that is all we learn. This book tells the rest of the story.

I won’t give any spoilers but would rather comment on the methodology. I don’t claim to understand how hypn

Quite literally, one of the three most important books I've ever read. Newton, a hypnotherapist and admitted agnostic, begins to uncover, through his sessions with his patients, the existence and details of the un-reported world that exists in another sphere between lives on this earth. Most of what I'd hoped and suspected about the "afterlife" or, better said, "between life," was affirmed and expanded upon. Powerful and life-changing, I've read this book a dozen times and get something each tim ...more

I have a problem with the idea of past lives and with karma generally, but I found this book to be both encouraging and hopeful. The best feature of the book is it's detailed description of an afterlife experience that goes far beyond "seeing a light" or a "tunnel." The worst feature of the book is it's depiction of punishment. Souls atone for the sins of their past lives. Someone who abuses women could be reincarnated as an abused woman. While this may look like an opportunity for second chance ...more

I read this book for the first time 10 years ago when a friend of mine gave it to me to read. It left quite an impression on me since I have been thinking about it ever since. About one month ago, I found it again in a used book store and read it in a few days. It seems that timing aligned again since it showed up just as I've been exploring the "spirit world" recently through authors who have written about their near death experiences.

One major reason I loved this book is because the author him

I have read many books regarding this subject and was not surprised to discover the author spent a lot of time in military schools . Although the book is about life between lives & spirituality , it lacks the essence of spirituality . It lacks the focus on love, compassion and human emotions . Instead it appears the author is focused on putting together a "system" an "order" of spiritual life - perhaps from military training . It lacked the "heart" I have felt while reading other books on th ...more

*I just saw that I reviewed this book over a year ago. My opinion has not changed. I recommend starting with this book as the author explains how he 'found' this information. Fascinating, life changing.*

What incredible book! As usual when I find books like this I feel I was 'led' to them as there is something for me to learn about my current experiences in life. I have been researching and reading about reincarnation since I was a teen (long time ago!). There are many books about that but not so

This is another world view-changing book, or should I expand to say, universe view-changing? Like Spirit Babies by Walter Makichen, this book talks a lot about karmic reasons for our various incarnations on Earth (and possibly other planets from time to time). Dr. Newton uses regressive hypnotherapy to take people back to before they were born in this life and we see some of his subjects' past lives and what the spirit world looks like in between physical incarnations. This is a collection of case studies by a hypnotherapist who believes that he has regressed patients not just into past lives but also into the period between lives. The presentation is admittedly not scientific, and the propensity for subjects under hypnosis to fabricate memories in good faith is well known. As Carl Sagan has observed, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and while some may consider this collection to represent that extraordinary evidence, I personally have my d ...more

I can read this over and over and over... I have learned to look at my personal life challenges as necessary obstacles in order that I may progress by mastering areas of my life that are mentally and emotionally challenging. As I have always told others, life is a testing ground for the heart's intentions and desires, and it is up to us to subdue our passions and overcome greed, hatred, and delusion.

I would recommend this book to anyone who would love to change their angle (perspective) on life

Reading this book was a life changing experience for me. I always felt each of us had a special purpose in being here on earth, and that we were provided with others to help us on our journey. This book has cemented these ideas and expanded upon them based on Dr. Michael Newton's hypnotherapy of his patients over a 10 year period. This book has also given me comfort in that I now know out souls never really die and that I will again see my loved ones who have passed from this world. I highly re ...more

Michael Newton has gone where no one has gone before. He has tapped into the place we go in between lives using hypnotherapy. This book tells the journeys of several people as they are regressed to the point before they were born. This and his other book, Destiny of Souls are my all time favorite books. I read them after my son committed suicide. These books gave me great comfort at a time when all there was was grief and amazement. Anybody who is spiritually minded and has an interest with the afterlife should definitely begin their quest by reading this book. I always find, it is worthwhile to explore any author's background before reading to get a feel for their approach and perspective etc. As it happens, Dr Michael Newton is a very credible chap. Dr. Newton reports conversations with patient under hypnosis who have been regressed past the birth of this lifetime. It is very thrilling to conceive of a community, a continuing learning, a teaching about what this lifetime is about. It is thrilling to think that there is evidence at last that life doesn't end, or at least doesn't end with death as it appears to us. Just think of it!

"But ..." the cynic in my brain says, "Really? Can we believe this? Who is this guy? What is the evidence, where

First you have to get past the past life regression hypnotism. After that hard pill to swallow...

Newton advances a premise that the purpose of life relies upon our ignorance of life outside of this mortal period, but this is quite at odds with his efforts to expose what life outside of mortality is like.

What sits particularly ill, though, is the observation that one can really only know about these things through the medium of a hypnotist. Even if you believe in hypnotism, isn't this something w

I'm open to the concept of reincarnation. It has been the one metaphysical, spiritual, big-unknown (call it what you will) that has always appealed to my imagination and also my sense of fair play. Have we lived before? (Magic 8 ball says yes.) Will we live again? (again, yes) Are we drawn to certain people to play certain roles in our lives (both positive and negative) for a larger reason? And will we interact with thes

Reading this book liberated me to the nth degree. In most, if not all religions, there is some type of evaluation of the effects of different phenomenon. To most this is known as karma, or a type of judgment. In some religions this evaluation is done by a temperamental anthropomorphic God, who surely must have known the outcome of the critique even before the creation of the person being judged. Be assured that there are only "LAWS" that govern the Cosmos, be they physical Laws, Metaphysical Law ...more

As a young lad in a small town searching for definitive proof of a higher being (and soulful purpose), I was too shy to share any inner thoughts with anyone, and soon felt all alone in this far as how I figured all this was put together anyway.

The Bible version of events, didn't quite jive with me...nor did the BIG BANG...some inner dissonance rang out...and then a fine fellow, who would instantly become my life long best friend, introduced me to this book. At long last, I didn't feel

My beautician actually recommended this book to me. I am not religious person and no longer believe in God. Something I struggled with since I was raised Catholic.

I really enjoyed this book and really shows, at least to me, there isn't a God.

What I find amazing is how all these different people talk about the same thing when they're in the spirit world. Part of it I find hard to believe and the other part is starting to believe. So much so, that I would love to do a past life and life between li

I downloaded this book because I wanted another point of view on the 'afterlife'. What I got was a whole lot more than I bargained for. First of all, it's a very dry book, full of case studies so I had a hard time staying focused on it. However, I came to like it in the end, and some of the answers it gives us. But it's 'big picture' is a lot bigger than I am prepared to accept. I like the idea that we chose the lives we are living, in order to learn from them. And the idea that some people in o ...more

In India, people believe in causality. If you do something bad today, you will either repent in this life or the other. However, there as been nothing to prove this except religious texts. Our logical mind does not believe what it cannot perceive. Hence, all these teachings seem to us like hogwash. Also, people say that soul never dies. The accounts of the people during the life between life throughout the course of this book proves this. Thinking further, when we meet people, we sometimes feel ...more

(1) the author [hypnotherapist:] could have asked better questions, in a better manner; in a way I really felt that the author didn't really understand the spirit world very well, despite the answers he was being given [fortunetly you can read the transcripts and hear the answers of the subjects and thus make your own conclu

If you have your mind set as to how you think the afterworld is, then I don't think it will be beneficial for you to read this book. If you are one that can take or leave what resonates on case by case basis, then I think you may find this book fascinating and worth the time.
