Know Your Bible: All 66 Books Explained and Applied
Know Your Bible: All 66 Books Explained and Applied, by Barbour Publishing, Inc., is an excellent resource for overviewing the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments of scripture. This book is small, fewer than 100 pages, but it packs a big punch and provides a lot of good information that is easily understood and is easily referenced.

A cheat sheet to some but a truly useful tool to others, Know your Bible is one of the best dollars I've ever spent. A little paperback should accompany every bible class or study you ever attend, it's one of my favorite Christian books I've purchased to date. It lists every single book of the bible in the Table of Contents for easy reference, and has only a page or two written for each book. The information contains only a high-level view of the book, such as the author, the date it was written...more
The sheer volume of The Bible is somewhat intimidating and often hampers the spiritual merits to be had in its perusal. With 38 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament, The Bible is a daunting tome to read. I have read a few chapters in some books of the Bible every now and then, and I may have finished reading a couple or more books from the New Testament. However, it is definitely hard to remember most of them, especially when it is in a bygone writing style that will need time,...more
It is easy to become mired in some of the events in the Bible, especially the Old Testament. This book gives a concise view and outline of each book, with highlighted verses and the general point(s)being made. Take note that this is not a substitute for actual scripture reading, but is a good "Cliffs Notes" to the Holy Text.
This is a really good reference book for the Bible. This book is a good quick read to bring one up to speed in a short amount of time about each of the the individual books of the Bible. It is divided into who the book is written by, when it was written, a description in ten words or less, details please, quotable verses, the message, and so what. And all are delivered in short spurts. This is a great common-sense approach that is probably best suited as a study aide when reading the various cha...more
Very helpful, lots of background and context about the who, when, where, what, why the books in the Bible were written.
I use this book a lot it is a great Bible companion guide. When I am finishing one book of the Bible I always go back and read the synopses so that I can pick another book to read. I think it is best to skip around the bible if you start at Genesis you will get bored so I read this book and it helps me pick each chapter I need to read. Great reference guide.
Well, I guess I was expecting more of a critical look at the individual books, this is really just a synopsis of each story with a plain vanilla one sentence sommentary at the end of each synopsis. Don't waste your time unless you want to avoid reading the bible and yet want to hold your own at those bible parties we all go to so often.

Quick little read and reference to the books of the Bible. Not at all scholarly but probably fairly accurate.
Bought this just as a quick ready reference when doing my YouVersion Bible studies on the iPad.
