But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. When you have the image of Joe Manganiello in your head as you read about the werewolf and hero named, "Cooper," it makes for quite an enjoyable read! "Mo," the heroine has just moved from Mississippi to Alaska, if nothing else than to escape her "hippie"-eat-organic-don't-kill-animals-for-meat; free-love-unmarried parents. (I'd have left skidmarks!) Mo, who has the sarcasm and wit to keep you laughing outloud, is fresh meat in the small town of Grundy, where men out number women 20 to 1. Fortun...more

Fun. Escapism. Light. Funny. Steamy. For me, these words describe How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf perfectly. This book is to paranormal and shifter books what Stephanie Plus is to crime thrillers, but the heroine is more skilled, sane and adept than Stephanie Plum. “Mo”, the heroine, has the crazy family she is ambivalent about, a funny female side kick, lots of men attracted to her, a former failed relationship, two men...more

I feel like I always pick up a paranormal adult romance novel thinking that I cannot possibly give it more than three stars and sometimes, I just do. It's not that these books are thought-provoking or deep, it's not that they make you cry or scream, it's not even that they are books that change your life. Instead, they're novels that offer some perfect fun and put a smile on your face when you're down and sometimes, that's even harder to do than write a story that touches your h...more

4.5 stars. Such a pleasure! This is a cross between chick-lit and PNR. I chuckled several times (but it's not always lighthearted). It's alternatively witty, sexy, sad, gritty, and suspenseful, with a wonderful cast of secondary characters and a fun sense of community.

PLOT with NO MAJOR SPOILERS : Solid. An interesting, coherent story line. Mo (her full name is such a kick!!) moves all the way from Mississippi to Grundy, Alaska to escape her meddling hippie parents. Cooper moves across Alaska t...more

This was my first time reading one of Molly Harper's books and I must say, I really enjoyed it. How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf is a light, cute, happy-ending type book that is a great mood booster. I was smiling almost the entire time. Whether it was the hilarious battle of wills between Mo and Cooper, their incredibly unusual love story or just some of the quirky townsfolk. This book is a fun mix between chick lit and paranormal romance.

Such a fun book! I listed it as urban fantasy, but it more romance and humor with a paranormal twist. it was great as an audiobook because the humor made me laugh out loud a lot of times. It started off a little bit slowly as we got to know Mo and her new life in Alaska, but once the pace picked up I found myself really looking forward to any excise to jump in the car and listen for a while. Not only was Mo a character I'd love to be friends with, but the supporting characters were great, they a...more

3 1/2 really.

This book is fun and humerous with big slice of romance and a dash of mystery on the side. There are lots on great one liners and emminently likeable side characters especially our protagonist Mo. Mo is a strong lead and I think she choose very wisely. The other scene stealer is Oscar, so well depicted I want one.

Mo has parent issues, the hippy anti-establishment kind, and as she cannot get her parents to respect her boundaries she packs up and does a moonlight flit to a small Alas...more

This book reminded me of Kristan Higgins' Catch Of The Day, except that it included sexytimes (unlike COTD, which is closed door), its first person POV narrator wasn't as annoying as COTD's Maggie, and Cooper the grouchy H underwent this massive personality overhaul, which didn't really ring true to his earlier curmudgeonly characterization. That about sums up my thoughts on this book in a nutshell - there are ups and downs that make for an overall enjoyable read, but that also made it feel rath...more

"Pitch-perfect" is a cliché when it comes to book reviewing, but nothing less describe this fun paranormal romance from Molly Harper. Mo is a woman so desperate to escape her overwhelming hippy mother that she moves all the way to Alaska. She ends up in the tiny town of Grundy where bears and elk roam, where the whole town (it seems) is looking for a wife and where her neighbor just happens to be a werewolf. Surly Cooper has a number of secrets of his own, including his lust for the pretty new o...more

After reading this book I have to admit I want to pack up my belongings and move to a remote Alaskan town, I mean who wouldn't when you are having issues in your life. But then again if I did decide to do that I sure as heck wouldn't be a good looking guy around for me, I would be left with a town filled with the old guy that kept upping his offer and the one everyone ran from.

Mo is one of those characters you can't help but to love form the first minute you meet her. I loved hearing about her u...more

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper is one of those books that will make you laugh out loud and elicit a gambit of emotion. The building up of the love connection is artfully done. Ms. Harper also administers a good who-dun-it mystery in with the amalgamation of her book. Plus, she has filled this book with wacky characters and comical, snarky one-liners. This was the most fun I have had reading a book in a long while.

Happy Reading from Bona Fide Reflections!!

I loved Molly Haper's 'Nice Girls Don't ...' series featuring a children's librarian who is turned into a vampire. In that series, her male best friend had fallen in love with a werewolf girl, so I was extremely happy to discover that she started a new series featuring werewolves!

After a broken engagement, Mo Wenstein has left her life in the Mississippi Delta area to start her life over in Grundy Alaska... which also is as far from her parents (and especially her mother - who is constantly bar...more

A very enjoyable read!

Mo is a regular girl raised in an irregular family. Her parents are controlling and the story begins with her moving/escaping to Alaska to have a life that's not constantly invaded by them and their beliefs. At first the move is experimental, but she settles in pretty easily and makes a home for herself in the small little town she picked, making friends and getting a job she enjoys as a cook in her new friends' diner/saloon.

Most of the new people she meets are either frien...more

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf is the first book in Molly Harper's Naked Werewolf series.

This is a fabulous light read. What I'd call a vacation book.

You have Mo Wenstien who moves to the small town of Grundy, Alaska from Mississippi to get away from her failed engagement and her truly hippie parents. More the parents than the engagement.

To say she was surprised where a very hot, naked Cooper Graham shows up on her doorstep with a bear trap on his leg, is an understatement but finding out Co...more

3.5 stars. decided to read this cause it keeps showing up on my recommendation tab. also because I've been reading two pretty serious book at the moment. didn't think I would finish this one first.

her writing style was lighthearted and fun, it was easy to read. plot wise, it was okay, I kinda see the twist coming. I just didn't like how it was over so quickly, as in the problem was absolved with within a matter of days. 2/3 of the books was about how the protagonist spends her days rather than a...more

I love Cooper. He sure knows how to make an entrance and sweep a girl right off her feet. Cooper is probably one of the surliest, most pain-in the butt, sexiest werewolves I’ve come across; he makes me bite my bottom lip. And then there is Mo: a girl who has overcome her crazy past and made a name for herself. She’s nice, but stands up for herself and the people she loves when needed. My kind of girl. And here is wh...more

Girl with quick wit and spunk heads to a small town in Alaska, where she has to deal with wild animals, the cold, and a werewolf? Sounds like my kind of book. While I often found myself thinking of Men in Trees, I really did enjoy the start to the book, and the start to the relationship. I liked the main character-grounded, reasonable, and independent.

Things started going downhill for me when werewolf boyfriend starts getting stupid. I hate when a person leaves and doesn't consult their equal p...more

This was definitely a 3.5 Star book. I laughed a lot and Mo was a hilariously witty character. I would like to say that Cooper was an awesome hero but well, I don't really feel like he was more than a secondary character even though he was the love interest. This book was very Mo, the heroine, centered, not that that is a bad thing. I guess it had to be as it was written in fist person from Mo's viewpoint (which is something that usually makes me stop reading a book but Mo seemed pretty hilariou...more

First in the Naked Werewolf paranormal romance series set in Alaska and revolving around a pack of werewolves in and around Grundy, Alaska. The action here takes place at the Blue Glacier Saloon with the couple focus on Cooper Graham and Mo Duvall-Wenstein.

My Take
Harper is too funny. Between her assessment of hippie parents' childraising and the comment about "I don't know if thought is really part of the 'this is going to be so cool' planning process" attributed to men…

Let me just say that I really enjoyed this book, I will definitely read it again and I would recommend it to everyone who likes reading funny romances. There were just a few things that annoyed and bothered me.

But let’s start by talking about the things I liked:
COOPER! ^.^ He is such a great, arrogant, surly, but strangely endearing guy. He’s sexy, he loves his family and Mo and his territorial behavior cracked me up every single time. The way the author portrayed his character was awesome, but...more

What I Loved: This book made me laugh out loud with gusto! Mo is a delightfully fun leading lady who can roll with punches, cook with pizzazz, and tell you like it is. She does us southern gals proud and poor Cooper just did not stand a chance. Cooper is a fantastic alpha-male because he needs Mo no-nonsense approach to everything he feeds up to her. Any other woman would have walked away from him but something about those two...more

Audio Book Review:

It is beyond me why people with annoying voices decide that it is their calling to narrate audio books. Enter Amanda Ronconi, narrator of Molly Harper’s book. She manages to make an already poorly written book even more horrible, especially every time she did her “man” voice. Her rendition of all male characters sounded like a 100 year old crotchety emphysema-ridden lifetime smoker. C’mon people! Unless you are a professional impressionist – lay off doing the voices of the oppo...more

Rated 3.5/5

Summary: Mo Wenstein has had enough of her hippy parents and their constant interference in her life. Given courage by the thought of being as far away from them as possible, she moves from Mississippi to Alaska without telling them where she is going.

Alaska proves to be a good fit for Mo. She makes new friends and finds a job quickly. She even meets a nice young police officer, named Alan, who is instantly smitten with her. However, Mo’s attention is constantly drawn to Cooper – the...more

So I obviously was inspired by last week's Book Blogger Hop for the crazy book title. I decided to actually read the silly book and see if its as funny inside as it was outside and I must admit, it was better.

I loved Mo with her witty remarks and comebacks. She was like the more outspoken me (minus the crazy hippie parents who caused her to run across state lines to get away). It was interesting to watch how well she grew accustomed to like in Grundy , Alaska and how easily the residents welcom...more

I went on a 50% off romance novel shopping spree at Borders and this was one of the books I got.

It was cute. It reminded me of the light, fun contemporary romances that were popular when I first started reading romance, with a little paranormal thrown in. In fact after a few years of not finding a lot in romance I wanted to read because of the dominance of paranormal (eventhough I don't completely dislike paranormal) it seems contempoary might be making a comeback.

Mo's life reaches a breaking po...more

My mother remembers an 8-year-old me setting up my “writing office” in our living room by putting her old manual typewriter on the couch next to a toy phone. And I (very slowly) pecked out the story of my third-grade class taking a trip around the world and losing a kid in each city.

I had a dark sense of humor, even then.

In high school, when other girls my age were writing poems about dying unicor...more
