Run Among Thorns is a romantic suspense by debut novelist, Anna Louise Lucia.

The story unfolds in America with the plot location rapidly moving to the wilds of Northumberland in northern England. Run Among Thorns charts the exciting rollercoaster ride of events and emotions between Jenny, the captive, and Kier, the captor. The author is adept at showing the characters' motivations and the plot is fast moving. The reader is encapsulated in suspense making this story a real page-turner of discover
Having grown up cutting my reader-teeth on romantic suspense novels by Mary Stewart, I immediately know when I begin reading what will be, for me, a keeper.

"Run Among Thorns" opens with grim government agent types reviewing footage of Jenny Waring expertly dispatching her captors during a tense hostage situation. The reader senses the appalling skills exhibited by the young woman have tossed her from the frying pan into the fire when we're introduced to Kier McAllister, a master of interrogatio

I liked this book. It was a freebie and I had never heard of the author but now I am interested in reading more of her books.

This story takes place both in the United States and Scotland but mostly the latter. It was a little confusing for me figuring out exactly where "home" was for Jenny Waring, a young woman involved in a triple murder. She is taken in for questioning and can't seem to convince anyone that she is not a trained killer and has no violence in her background.

"The Agency" has her

There were too many questions left unanswered in this book for me to feel it was better than OK.
1) How in the world did she do what she did? Her explanation was seriously lacking.
2) What is up with her brother??????
3) I don't understand the whole agency thing. It's never really discussed enough to provide any kind of historical information. Heck, the author doesn't even give it a name.
4) I will never understand how people can say they're in love with each other after two days.
5) What kind of bo

I must have missed something in the book because i am uncertain where the
title originated from. I can theorize a couple of ideas but i really do not feel the
title was a good fit for the story.
There was a few instances of very unneeded profanity. I realize in the "real" world
it is commonplace but I feel in the literary wo
Great synopsis that went NO WHERE. When I got to the end where the mystery is revealed, all I could think of was "Give me a break!" and "You've got to be kidding me." It's ridiculous. As for the hero/heroine, they were fine but I didn't feel any chemistry between them. I did like that the heroine was strong, independant, and a take-no-crap kind of girl. Unlike a lot of the other whimpering, useless cry-babies that you normally come across.

I am really tired of these romance novels ending with th
Imaginative thriller, placing the protagonist Jenny, in an unlikely situation whereby she has done what needed to be done, but nobody else was willing to do. Collared for this by the ‘agency’, she is placed in the hands of McAllistair, a man who makes a very healthy living from extracting information from those who do not want to give it, by any means necessary. Upon discovering that Jenny is not who the agency think, he vows to protect her from them, as they go on the run together. A thought pr ...more
I just finished another book and wanted to quickly grab something. I got this ebook as a free download from iTunes, almost as a random pick. I thought the cover looked interesting, and it had a good star rating, so I grabbed it.

Not my usual cup of coffee, but I did enjoy this book ... Lots of questions in the story .... Is she or is she not a spy .... Is he or is he not a good guy .... But one question or story line never got answered about her brother, almost like the author simply forgot abou
I actually liked this one. It was very fast paced but not too fast. A good balance of suspense and romance. I believe the author is british and some of the wording seemed odd to me but I still had no problem understanding what was being said. The only real complaint is I felt the characters could have used a little more development but overall I was fine with it. There is a 2nd book Dangerous Lies that tells Jenny's brother, Alan's story.
Pleasently surprised by this novel. i got it at comic con for $1. Thought it looked interesting enough. Not my normal book. No vampires. No supes. So glad I gave it a try though. This story was so great! There was suspense, action, love and sex! All my fav genres.
Looking for her other books. Hope they are just as good.

I wasn't sure what to expect (the cover pic I think does NOT help) but I was pleasantly surprised! It kept me reading and I was intriqued by the story line. I don't read many spy-govt pollitics books but this was a engaging book! I will be looking for Allen's story!p

Pretty predictable ending but I really liked Kier McAllister's character right from the beginning. I can see this becomming a small series that would be worth reading. I would recommend for a quick read.

This is a story of a strong man and a stonger woman and how though murder, spys and running they managed to make their world right! It was well written, exciting, and well worth the read! ...more

Recommends it for: Adult Women, Romantics
This was a good suspenseful romantic story in which the herione is left questioning if her feelings for her captor turned lover are real or a result of Stockholm Syndrome.
very good book, keeps you reading. starts out weird though it just throws you in this situation that leaves thinking you missed a page but you soon figure it out.
It was a really great suspence romance story. The characters were not wishy washy, and it was fast-paced.
The suspense was great! But again, too much sexual content for me.
