Well this book is supposed to be about ow Jimmy and Gret become closer together after a psychic tells Gret she hasn't got long to live and Jimmy gets paranoid and has every test under the sun because he too thinks he is going to die. Or something along them lines. I made my self keep reading even though she/Gret was jumping back and forth through memories. Which was pointless and confusing. My husband bought me this book for Christmas, even knowing that I don't celebrate the holiday. I think he wants a divorce.

I finished it New Year's Eve which was wonderful as I didn't have to take it into the New Year with me.

Worst. Book. Ever. I hated the protagonists. Two of the most awful people to work the Earth and they don't have long to live.

You want to like Jimmy and Gret, but it's virtually impossible. Seeing as 53% of the book is 'made up', tyhere is far too much license to write nonsense for cheap laughs. Jimmy is much easier to like, but the plot and flashbacks are far to intertwined to make any sense.

I got through about a third of this until I gave up. I thought it was just me but seeing the low scores across the board is somewhat validating. I only picked this up because I thought I'd give a book by Gretel Killeen a go. Not sure that I'd get any of her other books after this one though.

Why did I do it? I should not have read this book - all the reviews were correct. I think this has turned me off reading any of Gretel's other titles.
