Lots of useful information on the one hand, but......despite the "affirmations" part, in my opinion there was quite a bit of shaming. Yes, we have to take responsibility for why we are overweight (and to be fair there is acknowledgment that there are some medical conditions/medications that cause weight gain, not just over-eating), but saying (basically) "it's your fault!", and going on about how thin people supposedly have all the advantages in life (this is acknowledged as unfair, but 'that's ...more

This book is very educating about health, nutrition, exercise, and thinking patterns about food. This book helped me lose about 12 pounds; I definitely reccommend it.
