A book that does an excellent job of providing a play-by-play description of the Cuban missile crisis, while debunking some of the myths that surfaced to further political agendas. What I found most interesting is that initially the US was so upset that some leaders including Robert Kennedy proposed bombing a US city, so we could blame the Soviet Union and have an excuse for invading Cuba. I guess that's how conspiracy theories get started.

A very interesting narrative of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The reader experiences events as they develop from the point of view of the Americans, the Soviets, and the Cubans. We are right there with the Soviet soldiers guarding the missile sites, American reconnaissance pilots, and the political leaders Kennedy, Kruschev, and Castro as they make their decisions in dealing with the situation. Incredible inside information on the Cuban Missile Crisis.....by far THE book to read to know exactly how close we came to nuclear war. JFK´s finest hour.
