Not being at all adverse to a big suspenseful thriller I was more than pleased to get my hands on a copy of NZ author Steve Malley's book POISON DOOR.

Even more pleased that I didn't dither around like I'm wont to do and sat down and read it. There's an awful lot to like about this book. The story revolves around three main characters - Michelle Swanston, a 14 year old girl who lives a fair amount of her life on the streets - anything to avoid her drug addled mother. Up to her knees in fresh murder cases, detective Sarah Crane knows something big and very bad is going on in Christchurch, and it...more

The way the writer has portrayed Christchurch and the things that take place there is just amazing, i found it extremely easy see the story played out right in front of me for this very reason. The depth of the characters was just right, there was no "over kill" on the side of Tommy Knowles and his bad ass crew, as can so...more

This one is now available for the kindle. I found it very exciting, with great characters on both the hero and villain sides. It was easy to get caught up in this fast paced story. I highly recommend it.
