It's a kid's caper book, and it has about all the substance that you would expect from a caper book. The characters in the gang are defined by their abilities: there's the climber, the small space guy, the computer wiz, etc... And the "brains" behind the gang is "The Man With The Plan." The plans, of course, go terribly awry. But everything works out in the end.

I've read some reviews where people are concerned about the kind of role models and messages that this might send out to our kids. That'

What a disappointment! The latest works from Gordon Korman, including Swindle, "Schooled", and this book are horrible!
"Zoobreak" was the sequel to "Swindle" and was basically the same book with different details thrown in. It followed the pattern of: Kids get cheated by "bad" adult, police won't help, so kids literally break into someplace and then get caught by police, but the police let them off because the adult whose property the kids broke into was "bad". What kind of message is this sendi

I have just finished reading Zoobreak, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Griffin Bing the Main character and the gang pull off another plan. This time though it is for Savannah, because her pet monkey Cleopatra has gone missing. Savannah is heartbroken, until one day during their summer break, her friends decide to take her to the new floating zoo that arrived at their town to try cheering her up. As they begin their way through the zoo, everyone is unpleasantly surprised at how mistreated, and poorly ...more

Griffin Bing, “the Man with the Plan” is back with his friends from Swindle to solve another mystery and put some more shady adults in their place.

The day Savannah’s pet monkey Cleo goes missing gets worse when the kids discover the monkey is being held captive in a crummy, run-down zoo. As if running a crummy zoo with tiny cages and questionable animal care isn’t bad enough, the zoo is actually stealing pets to fill up the zoo…and the kids aren’t going to stand for it. The grown-ups the kids go

Zoobreak is the sequel to Korman's Swindle. Most of the previous gang make an appearance. This time, instead of a card being stolen, Savannah Drysdale's pet monkey Cleo goes missing. Luther, Savannah's pet doberman (transformed from the vicious killer of Swindle into a pussycat) is devastated. Savannah and her sixth grade class go on a field trip to a run-down floating zoo. Savannah creates a disturbance when she spots Cleo in one of the cages. Her legal efforts to get Cleo back go nowhere. Ente ...more

This book is all about getting Savannah's monkey, Cleopatra back. Then by a complete surprise they see Cleopatra at a very bad zoo where none of the animals are getting what they need. Then they get kicked out of the zoo because Savannah goes crazy because she knows that is her monkey and the person whos giving the tour refuse to admit to it. Then Griffin or the "man with a plain" and Ben decide to get the monkey back. After a long day Griffin finally made a plain including a lot of different pe ...more

A fun book for any one, this is targeted for ages 8-12. Korman is probably the best dialogue writer around - for any age. Regardless of how complex the vocabulary is, all his dialogue tells you something about the person saying it or moves the plot forward or both. In addition to that, it's hysterically funny. One of the best children's authors working today.

These books were recommended by my 10 year old. I had hoped in the second book, the kids could put their talents to use in a scheme that was less illegal and more believable, but that is not the case. From what my son tells me, they continue this trend throughout the series. It's just too much for me. I'll leave him to it, but I'll be watching him closely for criminal tendencies...

"And suddenly, as it was with all truly great plans, Operation Zoobreak appeared, fully formed in Griffin's imagination." One of my favorite lines from the book titled Zoobreak when Operation Zoobreak was born. This book is about a team of kids who have to work together to save a monkey from a boat that is a floating, death trap. Zoobreak is an excellent read for those that enjoy adventures.
One of the things that I truly liked about this book was that each of the characters had a special role.

Zoobreak, by Gordon Korman is one of my favorite books in this series, but it could have been better. I really like the fact that all of the characters were involved and their talents were consistent between this book and Swindle. There were so many times when I felt like the book would be over, but then another event would create chaos which is one of the things that I love about Gordon Korman’s books; you expect for one thing to happen, but a completely different thing is thrown at you. SPOILER ALERT

If you like animals and action, this is a book that I would recommend you to read. This fiction book is full of mysteries that will keep you in suspense! While I was reading this book, I was able to make a text to self connection because I have a dog at home and she is the leader of our family at times, just like the dog in this book. This story taught me to never give up looking for something that I feel is important to me.
The setting of this story is the zoo. The main character

Zoobreak by Gordon Korman is about-you guessed it-a zoobreak. When a capuchin monkey that was abducted from animal enthusiast Savannah Drysdale turns up in a cage on a filthy zoo boat during a field trip, she and her friends hatch a dangerous plan to break into the zoo and rescue the primate. The zoobreak team encounters many issues, such as transportation and a very haughty security man, but they make it past them and get into the zoo boat. But now Savannah’s animal conscience won’t let her tak ...more

Korman wrote his first book, "This Can't be Happening at Macdonald Hall", when he was 12 years old, for a coach who suddenly found himself teaching 7th grade English. He later took that episode and created a book out of it, as well, in "The Sixth Grade Nickname Game", wherein Mr. Huge was based on that 7th grade teacher.

Korman moved to New York City, where he studied film and film writing. While i
