Sad and uncomfortable to read this diary of a woman who owned slaves in and around 1860- her wanting the slaves to like her while compaining that they dont behave like civilized human beings, are lesser beings, savage, ungrateful, hate her is wretched but paints a portrait of the time. Depressing, but excellent historical source material.
