Everyone knows that we live in a "skin-is-in" society, heavily driven by media and immodesty. So how does a young Christian woman reconcile a fashionable wardrobe with maintaining her integrity?

Written by international professional model Rachel Lee Carter, "Fashioned by Faith" offers a cutting-edge approach to the concept of beauty with a Biblical foundation that will attr...more

"Fashioned by Faith" is an excellent Christian living book about modesty and true beauty. At the back of the book, there's also a quick-to-do 45-day Bible study on the same topics.

At the beginning of each chapter, a teen boy gave his perspective on what girls wear (though the boys all said the same sort of things). The author then talked about what modesty is, the heart-issues behind wanting to get attention from boys, some useful guidelines for clothing that will help you not show too much whil...more

Fashioned by Faith By Rachel Lee Carter is a great book for teen girls. It's written by a former model and features opinions about modesty from teen boys. There's also a Bible study guide at the end of the book. Rachel Lee Carter teaches young (or even older) females how to dress modest, what guys think of modest girls and what God says about modesty in the Bible.

Each chapter has a boy with his picture, age, interests, location, etc. There's an opinion piece from the boy on modesty means to him....more
Does what you wear matter?

I think we would all agree that yes, what we wear definitely matters. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a boost of self-confidence when I do my hair, wear makeup, and actually put some effort into my outfit in the morning. And that my attention goes to people based on their wearing - some good and some bad attention.

In her new book, Fashioned by Faith, international model Rachel Lee Carter explores the question of "Can you look great and still honor God?" And her re...more
I'm humbled and excited to help teach the teen girls at our church about modesty this spring! This book contains our study guide. It is written by a christian super model, and also has teenage boys share their thoughts on female modesty. A great read for all women, not just teens!
Being modest is not about being boring and unfashionable; in fact, it often takes more cleverness and skill to be fashionable while still maintaining respect and integrity. The author of this book would know-- she's a professional model.

If you are a teenage girl who is into expressing your personal style, fashion, and clothes, but don't know how to reconcile that with what it says in the Bible about modesty and beauty, then this is a good book to explore. Thumbs up. (=

(And I have a copy, so if y...more

Every girl should read this!

Rachel really gets into detail about the fashion world, how degrading the media can be, and how young girls feel pressured to dress inappropriately in order to impress boys without realizing that they are disrespecting themselves and sending out the wrong message. Rachel also gives examples about her modeling career and her past. This book made me realize that dressing immodestly really does bring out the wrong attention, and that guys will like you for your personality the best especially the...more
This book did not capture me within the first few chapters, because they were mainly a biography about the author's journey in the model industry. While interesting to read about, I felt like the topics she was discussing were slightly redundant, and did not really apply to me (I'm not a model, and I wasn't asked to model lingerie...). I liked the Bible discussions at the end of each chapter and I liked Carter's story though! I just did not like the redundancy of each chapter.
I really enjoyed this book. I was afraid that at first it would be like alot of other Christian modesty books but it was soo good! I really enjoyed hearing from Rachel's perspective of modesty and how she loves the modelling and fashion world. I encourage people to read it. It was worth it
Rachel Lee Carter provides an excellent Biblical framework for understanding modesty and virtue. She applies these principles, not rules, to the world of fashion and the appeal contemporary fashion holds. I am in 95-98% agreement with all that she says, but the principles are great.
