"You're being audited."That's hardly his most winning opening line, but Rafe Ellersley isn't here to make friends. He'd promised himself--and his boss--that this audit would be different. This time, he would be the consummate Australian Tax Office investigator. Cool, detached, professional. He'd bring Lexie Thatcher, tax-dodging artisan, to justice with ruthless efficiency ...more

The last in the Summerside trilogy, Lexxie and Rafe's story was a standout.

38 yo artist Lexxie is a free spirit who hasn't paid taxed in years.

26 yo tax auditor Rafe lobs on her doorstep to audit her.

Their affair is spontaneous and sizzling.

Let's just say I don't cry with many books but there's one scene in this book that made me bawl.

Poignant, evocative and packed with real characters without trite endings, this book is a great read.

I wanted to like this book. There are too few older heroines in romance, and this book deals not only with a twelve-year gap between the heroine and the hero, but it tackles issues not normally found in the genre—abortion, miscarriage and tax evasion.

This is a book that doesn’t follow ye olde romance conventions. The plot points aren’t predictable and neither is the structure of the story. The ending, though happy enough, is as close to being real

This is not a romance for the faint of heart, but it is realistic and honest and emoti

Amusing romance between a new age artist and accountant who would rather run a charter boat. Takes an unexpected serious turn. Well done.
