So the very idea of teaming up with Officer Darby O'Malley to ferret out a killer wasn't exactly how he thought this critical mission would go. Harlequin Intrigue is probably my least favorite line out of all Harlequin’s imprints.

There are, however, some books from Intrigue that I like. This one, unfortunately, is not one of those. I like it, but I think this only rates three red hearts from me.

Sure, the plot is interesting, fast-paced, and action-filled. It just wasn’t what I fancy. You see, I usually like books with internal conflicts rather than those where the ma

This was a entertaining book with action, suspense, and romance. Darby was a policeman, and Erren was a undercover DA agent. The two were thrown into a situation that they had to be partners. At the beginning of the book neither trusted the other. I loved how the two fought for control, fought to be in charge. At times Erren was in charge, while other times Darby took the lead. With both having a Police background, they didn't stall when it came to slamming handcuffs on their opponent. It was fu ...more
Well I certainly can't fault this romance for not being fast paced or exciting. It was full of adventure. But unfortunately the chemistry just wasn't there for the characters in my opinion. And the plot seemed implausible at times, but then again I don't know that much about the police industry.

Erren Rhodes has been undercover a long time. So much so that he's lost his taste for the business. But when a dear friend of his is killed, he has one more mission under his belt. When he goes to pick up
This book was great! I don't usually read suspense books because I don't usually enjoy that kind of tension in a book. This one had a lot of witty banter back and forth between the characters which gave it some humor and lightened things up a bit. The story moved along quickly, and I never got lost or bored with the mystery. I loved the way the romance developed between the two main characters, as well, and you can never go wrong with a well placed Star Trek reference.
Angi Morgan delivers another Intrigue set at a scorching pace. Undercover DEA agent Erren Rhodes finds his mentor murdered, his cover blown, and the only person he can possibly trust is a woman who couldn't lie if her life depended on it. Police officer Darby O'Malley once dreamed of working undercover, but now she must do everything by the book to help clear her brother of a murder charge. She's positive he's innocent, but the only one who might help her prove it is a rogue DEA agent on the run ...more

Angi Morgan writes Intrigues where honor and danger collide with love. She combines actual Texas settings with characters who are in realistic and dangerous situations. Hill Country Holdup went on sale the very night it won the Golden Heart award. HCH was a 2010 Romantic Times First Series Book, a Bookseller's Best First Book & Best Short Contemporary nominee.
