A purrr-fectly scintillating new novel from the national bestselling author of "Accidentally Demonic."
Katie Woods never thought she'd be forty-one, divorced, and thrust back into the dating world. To start fresh, Katie uproots her veterinary practice to upstate New York-not exactly the hottest dating scene on the planet. But when an unconscious cougar appears at her clin

Dakota's Accidental Friends series was an accidental find for me back in 2008. I stumbled on the first book, The Accidental Werewolf in an airport bookstore. It was the only light and funny book available that might hold my interest for the long flight ahead. While there are things about this series that drive me batty, throughout the four previous installments I have gotten a kick out of seeing how they each handle their "accidental" change and introductions into the world of supernatural(ly ho ...more

Absolutely fabulous, funny book! Full review coming soon!

My Review:
I don't usually start out a book review this way, but I think that this book needs my favorite quote first just to give you a feel for the humor in this book:
Nina chuckled, giving Katie her infamous devilish grin. "It means you aren't just a werecougar, lady. You're a cougar-cougar. You took stereotyping to a whole 'noter level. You're like one of those 'doesn't look her a

I like this author- I also like her quirky style, humor, and her overall story telling style. That said, I could find nothing to like about this book. :(

The swearing, oddz spelledz words, and the way that things kept jumping around annoyed me vs entertained me. I think because the plot was so thin and so many information gaps were abundant it just made it into a painful read for me. While it was nice to see previous characters, these new ones are thrown together because. Just because. Couldn't b

I am about 30 pages in and would love the author to get to the every-lovin point. She is so concerned about writing with a clever, overeager pseudo-toughass style that I am extremely annoyed.... but.... still interested because I can tell somewhere under the all "homeslice" street crap posturing there may be an interesting story. I absolute hate Nina and am wondering why she is even allowed around these people if they despise her and are so annoyed by her (and don't hesitate to tell her so)! I h ...more

This is my favorite one so far out of the series. I love the way she tells her stories. My favorite person is Nina I love the way she tells it like she sees it. Can't wait to read the rest.

Dakota always delivers a funny and awesome story!

Katie has moved back home to live with her aunt starting her own veterinary practice but the locals don’t trust her. When leaving work one night an unconscious cougar outside they assume is from the exotic animal attraction down the road. They get him in a cage only to find in the morning that the cougar is gone left behind an attractive man way too young for her but that’s the least of her problems. Katie was scratched by the cougar and is starting to show symptoms of being something else plus ...more

Veterinarian Katie Woods thought she was helping a poor injured cougar but when she accidentally scratches herself on his paw she quickly learns her newest patient is more than what he seems. Soon after Katie's hand turns into a furry paw and she gets a killer new set of teeth. While there is some shock and denial, I think Katie takes in the situation pretty well. It helped that her assistant called OOPS, or out of the closet paranormal support, which is run by Wanda, Marty, Nina and Ca

I started this one a little while ago and had to put it to the side because I was really not liking it. But then, after encouragement from some other readers who enjoyed other books in Cassidy's Accidental Friends series, I picked it up again. And, I have to admit, I rather liked it.

Katie is a fun character. A little older than many of the heroines in my books, she loves animals and is willing to do just about anything to help them, including "liberating" an injured one from a local animal sanct

I loved it, as always. My best description for Cassidy's novels is always humor with heart and this fully qualifies. She writes great women that I want to be pals with, men that I want to fall in love with but would settle for being pals with, and amusing stories that have enough real life issues under the humor and adventure to be emotional and relevant. It's always just the right balance for me of fun story with and thoughtfulness, not serious, but not total fluff either. She writes fun books ...more

Accidentally Catty brings the whole gang back together, meaning Marty, Wanda, Nina, Casey and now introducing Katie. Katie is a Vet in a small town, where she encounters a large "cat" on her porch one morning. Little does she know that this "cat" is a were-cougar, while trying to help the injured "cat" Katie gets scratch and starts feeling odd and sickly almost instantly. This is where OOPS comes in to save the day " Out in the Open Paranormal Support" where the girls try to help anyone with par ...more

I am staring this series completely out of order, lol! I enjoyed this story so much that I have to go back and start with the first book The Accidental Werewolf! I've met the charcters already, so now I am interested in how things got started!

Dr Katie Woods is a veterinarian with a past (from NYC) she's running from, and lives with her aunt Teeny in a small town, where the locals don't like her for trying to take business away from the local vet, and causing a ruckus concerning the exotic animal

after her fourth book, Accidentally Demonic, I really wasn't sure if i wanted to keep reading... the story had become same ol' same ol' and utterly predictable... but i finally got around to reading this one and i'm glad... she managed to breathe new life into the story... making the characters come alive again as well as adding some new twists to the story... i don't want to give anything away but this is definitely worth reading... all the characters from the other books are back... some more ...more

I've really enjoyed Cassidy's tone, from the first book, The Accidental Werewolf. But it was hard to say what it was about this book that made it take about a year to finish it. I think in the end, Katie Woods is very hard to relate to. I feel that I should, but something was missing. The romantic aspect of it was not quite believable, either, as she spends a good majority of the beginning and middle grasping at straws as to why she shouldn't be attracted to Spanky/Shaw. They spend very little t ...more

Y'know, I've decided that there are just some books that you read for the sheer joy of it all. Dakota Cassidy's books are those kinds of books for me. When I start one, I mentally sit back, clear my mind and prepare to be amused.

Accidentally Catty brings us back to the world of Wanda, Nina et al, and introduces Katie, a (formerly) human vet in a small town who is very quickly turned into a cougar shifter. The pace of this book is quick and reliable, and (my favourite part) there is LOTS of Nina

I like this series, somewhat predictable as each book follows a formula, but for the most part the kookiness of the characters make up for that. The only time I get tired of things when I am reading these are when Nina starts to go off on one of her rants, with swear words flying like snow flakes in a blizzard. A little of Nina goes a long way and if it wasn't for her secret nice side I would skip over parts with her.

With this book our 4 previous heroines have decided to band together creating a

Accidentally Catty is the fifth book in the Accidental series by Cassandra Cassidy. These books are fun paranormal romances, not too heavy, with a good dose of humor. The first three books focused on a group of friends (Marty, Nina and Wanda) and how they each entered the paranormal community. As one can guess from the series title, it’s not always a planned event! Book four focused on Wanda’s sister, Casey. The four ladies decided to create OOPS, an organization dedicated to helping others who ...more

This book is about a veterinarian who gets accidentally scratched by a cougar and then begins randomly turning into a cougar. The cougar that scratched her turns back into a man-- who has amnesia and remembers nothing about his life as a cougar or a human. Throw into the mix, some werewolves, vampires, demons and a were vamp or two, and there you have the gist of it. Silly, yep, definitely. Found myself rolling my eyes a couple of times. If you're into deep literary novels, you will not make it ...more

I'll admit it. Yes, I do read romances. I know what you're thinking. They're trashy, formulaic and completely lacking in any literary value. Well, that's sometimes true. And I've definitely read a few like that, but Accidentally Catty (and by association the rest of the series), is not. To my credit, I am fairly discerning when it comes to romances. At least, most of the time. It's like horror movies. Yes, I like the CG blockbusters, but occasionally, you just have to watch those terrible no nam ...more

Review from Backchatting Books

Katie Woods is your average veterinarian until she gets scratched by an injured cougar named Sparky. Katie locks the animal in a cage but is more than slightly disturbed when she goes to check on him and finds a naked man in his place. He can’t explain what the heck has happened to him as he has amnesia and that’s the least of her worries as her hands have somehow turned into paws. Luckily Out in the Open Paranormal Support (OOPS) is there to help.

Katie escaped to

What I Loved: Let me say this upfront and apologetically: I LOVE the Accidental Series. It is such a fun, light Paranormal Read. This is one of those series, that without fail, will make me laugh out loud and have water coming out of my nose (aka the induction into The Snort Club-my sp

This book was headed for 4 stars until a series of stupidity ruined the book. A werewolf/vampire/cougar are you kidding? WTFreak??? The inane, riduculous ending dropped this book to 2 1/2 stars.
This author also has no idea how to properly use comic relief to diffuse a tense situation. Her heavy handed attempts at the wrong times were irritating.

I admit it--I really like this series! The characters are real characters (if you know what I mean!) & I love reading the developing friendships & relationships. So fun! But be advised that every book in this series contains explicit sex, so if that isn't your thing skip the books or be prepared to skip pages. ;)

Katie Woods, veterinarian, is in for a shock when she tries to help an injured cougar and ends up being scratched. Said cougar turns back into a man while caged at Katie's clinic and things with her physiology start going haywire, as well. Thrown into the mix are the characters from the previous "Accidental Friends" books (Nina, Wanda, Marty & Casey) who try to assist Katie with her entrance into the supernatural world. Of course, shenanigans ensue and the cougar-guy happens to be drop-dead ...more

Finally there was a step out of the repetitive story-line that is "The Accidental Series". Not to bash the previous books, as I loved them as well and I won't deny it; but this book was fantastic. There isn't much more to be said about it, other than it was great. The whole bunch makes an appearance save for my favorite witty butler, and they all become a closer family. I enjoyed the complexities of this story as it took on more of a mystery theme yet still held the same twists and turns the oth ...more

Very good novel, a bit different then the first 4 novels i series but not bad. The main character is older than the other four girls and she comes into the series as being the first person who is accidently changed paranormal that the OOPS crew(Cassy, Nina, Wanda, Marty) help. This books abit different also by istead of the guy who bites the accidentie usually tries to help the main character(girl) through they're shift to paranormal like when Greg helps Nina be a vampire after he accidently bit ...more

This will be short and sweet. Nina is back with a vengeance, and she's found twitter, and it's awesomely hysterical. When she calls it that there's always a crazy woman involved, its great! She is my favorite part of this series. You have to be able to deal with huge amounts of profanity (no problem from me) to really enjoy her, but she's brutally honest and once you get to see what she's really like, she is written as the fiercest friend who will do anything to save those she cares about. I gave this book a second chance and I'm glad I did. Three stars isn't the best, but that's because this book didn't start getting interesting until about 150 pages in. And there's three warnings I want to give if you plan on reading this book. ONE, I know this labeled a "romance" novel, but it's primarily a mystery. TWO, if you're buying it for the erotica, don't. There's barely any. And THREE, if you don't like sarcasm or smart-ass remarks every other paragraph, then I'd choose another book. T ...more

Dakota Cassidy lives for a good laugh in life and in her writing. In fact, she almost loves a good giggle as much as she loves hair products and that’s saying something.

Her goals in life are simple, (like really simple): banish the color yellow forever, create world peace via hot rollers and Aqua Net; and finally, nab every tiara in the land by competing in the Miss USA, Miss Universe, and Miss W
