I’m not married. And I pray for my future husband. Thus my reasoning behind reviewing “Praying for Your Future Husband.”

I knew from the title, what I THOUGHT I was going to get, but I was completely taken by surprise once I started reading and by the time I was done, I was thoroughly blessed.

There are 13 chapters, each one detailing qualities we as young women should keep in mind as we pray for our future husbands. Robin and Tricia each made the chapters personal by adding their experiences. The...more
Every time I drive Grammy home, she asks me the same question, “Have you met a young man yet?” Each time I answer, “No,Grammy.” Then she replies, “Have you prayed about it?” My response is, “Put it on your prayer list.” Although her intentions are sweet, it still weighs on my heart. I’m thirty-one and single. I wasted six years dating the wrong guy and another two getting over him, and I gave up hope that God has a man for me. Because I lost hope, I quit praying for him like I used to do when I...more
So, I have this thing.
Where I pray for my future husband.
I don't do it daily.
Or is there any kind of method to when I do actually pray for him,
But I do pray for him.
I even have this separate blog to talk to him when I feel the need to vent, or to cry, or whatever.

It's weird, but I like it.
So anyway, when I was doing my blogging for books things, I decided to check out this book ... since I sorta do it anyway, I figured I could maybe get some pointers from.

Unfortunately, I was strangely ambiguous...more

Praying for Your Future Husband was a great non-fiction read! While the book is obviously about praying for your future husband, it's also about what you can do now to become the woman he'll need.

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. - Psalm 27:14

Let me say, I was challenged and affected by a lot in Praying for Your Future Husband. I am not great with patience, sometimes have trouble with bei...more

Before reading Praying for Your Future Husband, I thought the cover was pretty with its bold but soothing colors and the peaceful image of a girl soaking in the sun. But it wasn't until I read the book that I realized just how fitting the cover really is.

For you see, the feelings portrayed by the girl on the cover matched my own. This book caused me to look up, to soak in the comforting and life-giving Light of the Son of God. In these pages I wasn't told that I needed to pray hard for a man to...more
Ever since I was little my Mom has prayed for my Future Husband and encouraged me to pray for him also. I prayed very irregularly, but after reading this book I have began praying every night for the man I will one day meet.

This book was a great reminder of the power of prayer, and how important it is to talk to God about the secret matters of your heart.
Not long after seeing this new release, I noticed my friends singing its praises all around the internet. When I saw it was available to review, I instantly jumped at the chance. And I am so glad I did. This book was amazing--beyond my expectations. I devoured this book, drinking in the truths and encouragement that both Robin and Tricia gave to all the single women out there.

I'm only 18, so haven't lost all hope yet. ;-) But reading how I can pray--how I can minister to my future husband now--w...more

In this book for girls and young women, Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer tell their stories of love. They talk about how most girls dream of meeting “The One” and how many of us get sidetracked along the way and sometimes create nothing but heartbreak for ourselves. The book is cleverly divided into chapters of what to pray for you and your future husband, which also telling personal stories from Robin, Tricia, other girls, and some boys as well.

I enjoyed reading the t...more

This book is a gem for a single woman to learn HOW to pray and WHAT to pray for in a future husband. The book's two authors, Robin and Tricia, share their real life, and love stories in each chapter that are relatable and inspiring. Tricia and Robin each share their failures, heartbreaks, and happy endings. Each chapter also includes scriptures, quotes, and real stories from other women who prayed for their future husbands and saw real results, along with discussion questions at the end of each...more

"Wow" does not even begin to describe this book. It is a well-writing, well thought out and encouraging book geared specifically to young unmarried women. Robin and Tricia share their life stories including their joys and struggles. I cried with them. It brought such emotion. I wish that I had had this book when I was a young wanna-be married young woman. While I did pray for my husband, I never had the direction that this book provides.
Each chapter focuses on a different aspect of prayer, inclu...more

Recently I have read the book Praying for Your Future Husband: Preparing Your Heart for His by Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer. Now this is something that I’ve been doing for years in addition to writing him letters and such. But this books really helped me to fill in the gaps with specifics. I love the stories that Robin and Tricia have woven into the book – their own stories and life experiences. Both have drastically different stories, but at the same time, that is what makes this book so s...more

When I was a teenager in youth group, I used to be told “Pray for your future husband. He needs your prayers.” The advice was good, but no one ever said HOW to pray for your future husband or WHAT to pray for him.

That's where Robin Jones Gunn's and Tricia Goyer's book Praying for Your Future Husband comes in. The subtitle is “Preparing Your Heart for His” so from just the cover you know it's not all about your Prince Charming.

Gunn and Goyer have twelve chapters of things we can pray for our fut...more

An excellent read. Convicted me. It has definitely started me praying! Any unmarried young woman should read it.

Once upon a time, over twenty years ago, a high school teacher who never thought she'd write finally published the novel her students had pushed her into. They asked her for a teen romance at the beach; she set her alarm for three in the morning, three mornings a week, and faithfully wrote it. Little did she or her students know just how far that short novel would go.
Fast forward to three years ago - thirty-one books into the multi-series story, Robin Gunn had also written books for women and a...more
**I've only read the first 50 pages and I'm so inlove with this book and all it offers!! This is worth so much more than FIVE stars and EVERY woman should read it. Such ENCOURAGEMENT, such wonderful prayers, such wisdom and heart in these pages. The prayers, testimonies, scriptures and quotes from this book will never expire and are utterly precious.**

I read this book as a 20 year old, and boy do I wish that I had read it my very first year of highschool! This book is much more geared towards teenage girls rather than young women, but it has something to take away for everyone. I personally copied the prayers into a notebook and choose a different one to pray every day. I really enjoyed this book, it has helped my relationship with God and also my outlook on dating. I would highly recommend this book for any girl ages 13-18! If you are a moth...more

My God....

My God....

Never, in a million years, would I have thought to pray for a husband that I don't have yet. A sister in Christ advised me to read this book and I am so glad that she did. This book has opened up my eyes to so many knew things. This is very important to me, as I make a conscious decision to please Christ every day and strengthen my walk with Him. My prayer time is better and because prayer is one of the most intimate times that you can have with Christ, I am thankful for that...more
I've wanted to read this book for a long time, just because so many of my Christian blogger friends have loved it. I'm so grateful I read this when I did, because I was at a point in my life where I was so desperate to find someone that I was looking in all the wrong places. This book helped me to realize the aspects of my own life I need to work on first, before I can even consider thinking of who will complete me. Definitely a read for anyone who has yet to meet their future Mr. Right!
It may sound corny, it may seem out of date, but a girl starts thinkin g early and she might as well be smart.Boys are great and they say a lotta things. A smart girl knows what to do and if she didnt hear it from Moma she can here it right here!
(I'd actually give it 3.5 stars.)

I really enjoyed this book; I liked that they put their own true stories in it. Overall, it was pretty good. :)
wow this is such a good book.
I think every women should read it.
I have mixed emotions about this type of book, the one where readers are given the impression that all girls desire marriage and that, if they do not, something is wrong with them. I've read "Christian" relationship books before, and they all leave me feeling more frustrated than when I started, yet I still continue to read them. All that being said, the concept of this book is really sweet. I am all for praying for people whenever the opportunity presents itself, but I fear that some girls may...more

WOW. I am so stoked and so amazed and so filled with God right now. Let me start my review by saying how BLESSED I am to have received and read this book. I first learned of this book from Robin Jones Gunn’s newsletter months ago. Then I learned of her giveaway of the book, and I entered with no expectation in mind (since I’m international). Weeks passed and I forgot about this until I received a package. My reaction? Well, I was just jumping up and down and a smile was plastered on my face beca...more

"The amazing thing about prayer is that God has designed this system to release the power of heaven for the person or situation we're praying for. Think of your prayers as the garage door opener that lifts heaven's gates and sends reinforcements to strengthen your future husband. You have most likely not met him yet, but your prayers will make a difference in his life."

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." -Hebrews 11:1
This book seemed different than other books I've read. This one was refreshing, creative, and very scripture oriented. I liked how the authors, Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer, put their hearts onto the pages for all to read. This book is separated by the things you should pray about for your future husband. This includes his heart, mind, and soul. It also means that you need to pray for yourself as w...more
