How far would you go for a friend ...

Marie's Read (Marie Shirley Griffin)

This should be required reading for every doctor doing their resistance training.

For the rest of us, it should be mandatory freshman high school reading, to be reread every other year thereafter until we "get" it right.

Have only just seen that this was based on a true story. That has made it more special. I love the message that comes over about humility and wisdom from someone who the world no longer has time for. A great little read and I will look out for more books by Vernon Coleman.

A short and simply written book, but compelling, and with some twists. I read it in one sitting and enjoyed it very much. It touches on subjects very relevant to us all eventually, such as old age, and the doctor/patient relationship. It is written from the point of view of a young doctor doing his residential year in the geriatric ward of a hospital, and has some amusing side characters.
